@@xDONxBx The Android retained the data. Once I was sure the iPhone worked properly I did a factory reset on the Android to erase all my personal data. I had Verizon swap the SIM card for me at no charge, so I can now use the iPhone for calling.

It's disturbing how difficult Apple makes it to transfer messages and whatnot between an iPhone and an Android phone. Just another way that they want to lock their customers in. Google makes the process easy yet Apple only allows you to use "move to iOS" once. After a device has been set up though you can't switch back and forth without needing to perform factory restore.

No just reset it I will let you back up and log you out automatically then you can just log back in after and get all your stuff you had before the transfer plus the stuff you transferred.

Great Vid. I decided to go back to Apple as soon as they got rid of their stupid lightning chargers and went to a regular USB. Well done the EU for forcing them to use a generic cable. 1 hr 24 mins left for the transfer......! Thousands of photos, I did all the apps also in the hope that I won't need new subscriptions for apps that are available on both platforms, Here's hoping!

@@ashcrowszero I transferred 90 gb of data from my old galaxy 9plus to my 256gb iPhone almost everything photos, contacts etc so make sure you have space and excellent internet connection plus I followed everything in this video as he said. Good luck.

Happened to me several times. I opened the overview off all my running apps ( the ||| icon bottom left on Samsung galaxy) and closed all windows. Then it worked. Although I decided to go to bed after 3 hours of trying to set my phone up, so i unplugged them and the transfer was incomplete. Here I am again, with both phones pluggedin next to my bed, in case it takes over an hour again.

I'm doing this right now, and it must be said: It takes FOREVER if your old phone is full. I have roughly 80gb of data to transfer from a galaxy S10 to a 15 pro. It's being a total pain. Both phones unavailable during the process, and estimated time to finish: 26 hours. Come on....

@@Shosho-s4f I've found some workarounds. For example, the photo gallery I made a backup on the pc, then transfered later to the iPhone by cable using iTunes. Then I proceeded to make the backup of only the important stuff some apps, contacts and so on.

I did the factory reset option. If you do it that way, you will not be able to sign into Apple ID initially because your cellular data is cut off. So you can't get a verification code sent to your number to sign into Apple ID. You have to call your carrier to establish cellular data again.

Backing up to iCloud is pointless. You can not restore from it without deleting your iphone again, and choosing that option, which will of course mean you don't get anything off your android.
