Again another fantastic transfer video.I'm glad this one showed no passport control on entering Doha.I commented on a previous video that I had not gone through passport control on entering the airport and another viewer called me a liar and I was reviewed by youtube and found to be a liar.I hope the person that called me out sees this and is happy with themselves.Great video as always Maro and Maxi

Thanks for watching Kieron, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, it seems that masks even in September are still required at Doha Airport and on Qatar Airways flights, it would be great if they ended that in line with other countries who did that while back already! Holiday was good but as you also say, it is nice to get home again too... until next time ;-) Have a good work weekend and take care both of you :-D

How long it took in transfer?
@chris.cloudroom Жыл бұрын
Hello! I came across your video at the perfect time! I will transit HIA in a couple of months and I'm still trying to learn all the custom procedures. In hope you'll see this comment, I hope you can help me with some answers if you can. I would really appreciate it! First question: my transit to HIA will be for 4h and 5h. Do I need a visa for this? I am traveling with Qatar for both flights but on their website I couldn't find an exact answer for this matter. Second question: as it is my first long flight ever with a transit stop, I'll have a checked in baggage. Do I need to go and get my checked in baggage, and then again to check in it again for the connection flight? Or are they going to move it into the next airplane and all I have to do is, wait for it at the final destination? Thank you!
@davinsurber4147 Жыл бұрын
did you ever figure out these questions?
@chris.cloudroom Жыл бұрын
@@davinsurber4147 yes, I did. If I do not leave the transit area, a visa is not required. The baggage is handled by the company. You just need to pick it up at the airport destination. Hope it helps ☺
@davinsurber4147 Жыл бұрын
@@chris.cloudroom that helped tremendously! with a connecting flight, were you able to go straight to your gate without any further security checks? also, where is your trip to??
@chris.cloudroom Жыл бұрын
@@davinsurber4147 My trip is to Seoul, but I ultimately bought my ticket with Turkish Airlines via Istanbul Airport but both have the same rules. If you do not leave the airport and stay at the transit area, you don't need further check ups on security/visa because you are in transit. If your transit is longer and you need to stay at the hotel, then you have to do the procedures again because you are leaving the airport/the international neutral/transit area. Before making my decision, I've called Qatar Airways and they told me I don't need to do any formalities once arrived at Doha. You just get your hand luggage and go straight to the gate. They'll move your checked baggage to the other plane. The girl from the call center told me, there are signs all over the airport regarding transit area, so it shouldn't be a problem once you get off the first flight. If you have more questions, I recommend you to call them and ask all your questions. They'll answer very quickly the call and tell you all you need to know.

If your layover time is long enough to be able to leave the airport as long as you return to the airport by a few hours before boarding time, would Doha be a good place to leave the airport during a long layover preferably at least 10 hours?

Without going into too long a description... "open" means that the toilets are in cubicles where the walls do not reach the ceiling or floor making for a less private experience ;-) Hope that makes sense.
