Dear Pritesh, so sorry this happened to you. Here's 7 ways to solve this problem: 1/ Check your Wi-Fi router and make sure Wi-Fi is switched on. 2/ Try to connect your Android with the Wi-Fi created by iPhone during the process when the move to iOS code shows, the Wi-Fi password is the same as the Wi-Fi name. 3/ Restart your Android Phone several times. 4/ Reset your network. 5/ Try out Airplane Mode, turn off, and turn on. 6/ Smart switch - switching off the Wi-Fi option between Wi-Fi & mobile data. 7/ Trying to transfer data with Google account. I hope this helps! ;)

This is the 3rd video I have watched and none of you guys mention whether it is necessary to have a sim card in the new iPhone before you can transfer data? I tried the 'move to IOS' app and also tried the 'copy my data' app...they did not work for me... seems the only way is to manually install my data to my new phone...Eeesh!! what a pain. 🤬

How do you transfer and android phone number to the new iPhone so it will have your old phone number

You can simply pull out your SIM card and slap it in any phone and the new phone is your phone number as long as the SIM card is the same size and fits. This is why its important to have a SIM lock found in your settings. If you lost your phone someone can simply pull your SIM card out of the slot, stick it in their phone and have all your information bypassing your security code you have only on your phone. When you put a lock on the actual tiny SIM card they will need the PIN to unlock and only get 10 chances. Not bloody likely. However! If you lock your SIM and for some reason forget or all thumbs hitting the PIN, you too can be locked out. This is why its important to get you IMEI number off your phone while its not locked. You can call your carrier on another phone, give them the IEMI number and they will give you the "PUK" code to unlock your SIM card after answering your security questions. This is how people get hacked or "SIM swapped". If you take precautions now will save you a lot of headaches later on seeing your locked out of your phone. I also suggest keeping a second phone with a VIOP phone so as long as you have Wifi, you still can call out and receive calls on a separate number. People have had their lives destroyed over a SIM swap. Heres a vid on how to find your IMEI number and store it in a safe place if you decide to put a PIN lock on your SIM card. Whatsapp history will not transfer like this. You will need to use a third party app for messenger apps. drfone.wondershare.net/ is one example but there are many out there.

Reboot and try again. These things tend to magically work with a reboot. There should not be a situation where your phone cannot connect to the wifi network.

The Move to iOS app sucks big time tbh. I tried so many times and shows calculating even after an hour.

I did all that and it said the estimated time to transfer was “10 hours”! And you cannot allow the screen to go dark ( which means continually tapping the screen) or the transfer will be “interrupted “, and you have to start over. I do not have that much data on my Android so why on earth would it say that???

You can prevent the screen from going dark; iPhone = Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto Lock - Select "Never". Android = Settings > Security > Screen Lock > Select "None" It should not take 10 hours to transfer. I would reboot both phones and start again. Technology is technology and there will always be random issues which can be solved by rebooting. If you get this message again; turn off auto lock as above, plug the phones into a charger and leave the transfer to run overnight.

Hi. A few fixes that might work; 1) Forget all Wi-Fi networks on your Android phone and turn off the Smart Switch feature and then connect to the network under Airplane Mode. 2) Set your iphone to not auto-lock (Settings/Display & Brightness/Auo-Lock > select 'NEVER'. Make sure your battery is not on low power mode first) AND on ANDROID (Settings/Security or Security & Location / Security / Screen Lock > select "None") 3) Don't use your phone or allow incoming calls (i.e. Airplane mode) whilst the transfer is completing. If none of these work then you could use a third party tool like AnyTrans to move the data. Hope this helps! Charmaine xoxo

@@lizr.3178 I'm having same problem on the iphone side. I can't get to the iphone settings until I'm past this "Move to IOS" android to iphone transfer. The iphone screen keeps going dark (not the android). I'm sitting here manually tapping it to keep it "awake" (hopefully not for 2 remaining hours). This is a nice tutorial but I don't believe there's any way to get around the screen going dark on the iphone side.
