Hello Janie, I really enjoyed watching this video. I just wanted to make you aware that floor tile cost more than wall tile. I also make coasters and I only pay 8 cents each for wall tiles at Home Depot. A box of 112 cost only $8.00. I gasped when you said $.98 cents Just an F.Y.I. for anyone who's watching.

Thank you for stopping by. As I said at the beginning of my video, regular copy / printer paper is what needs to be used. Not cardstock, not photo paper, not glossy paper......just regular copy paper as I showed. I don't know what you mean by "does it work with letters".....but anything you can print on regular copy paper with a laser printer. If you are printing something with writing or that you want to remain the original direction, you will need to print mirror image otherwise it will come out backwards since you are placing it face down. Please watch the entire video and don't skip ahead or you will miss important things, such as the directions at the beginning of the video that tell you what you need, including the regular copy / printer paper. Good luck :) Hugs.....Janie

Hi - would this work with acrylic paints or watercolor paints instead of photo?
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 7 жыл бұрын
I can't wrap my head around what you are asking. First of all if you want to paint on tiles then I would just paint on tiles....why would you paint on paper and then try to transfer it to a tile? As for watercolors, they won't work on tiles, and even if they did, the second you saturated the paper to scrub it off the color would come right off. Did you watch the video and understand the process? This is something that is done with images printed from a laser printer. If you want to paint on tiles with acrylic paints that is a completely different process that I can't help you with as I'm not a painter. But I'm pretty sure you can paint on ceramic tiles and I'm sure they would be beautiful :) Hugs...Janie

This should work on any tile. I have used it on glossy tiles and stone tiles.....I have done it on a ceramic mug.....and I have a video on how to do it with wood. If you want a definite answer about a specific product you will have to try it and find out as I haven't (and can't) try it on every possible surface. I can only tell you what my personal experiences are and what I believe will work. I always tell everyone to try it themselves to find out because that's what I have to do. Good luck.....I'm sure it will work just fine and sounds like a fun project :) Hugs....Janie

@@janiethecraftprincess What about on a colored tile? I have a picture of flowers, and the flowers and stems and leaves are colored, but the back ground is white...i guess I would need to cut everything out and just modpodge the flowers themeslves if I want it on a colored tile right?
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 4 жыл бұрын
@@CurryandTheStates Unless you use the Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium, the color will show through. So for example if the tile you use is green, the green will show through whatever image you use giving your image a green tone. But if you use the Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium and put in on the IMAGE and then put the image on the tile, then the photo transfer medium creates a white background for your image so the colors stay true. But if you use regular Mod Podge for the transfer process then the color of the tile will effect the color of the image. I know this from transfering photos to wood. However DO NOT use the Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium as a sealer. Good luck :) Hugs....Janie

Very nice demo, so clearly explained with many examples. Thank you so much! Thanks also for NO MUSIC. My ears are very happy. PVA glue, Liquitex, and Modge Podge are all similar products. Take 1 cup of PVA glue (Poly Vinyl Acetate) and 1/3 cup water. Mix in a container to get Modge Podge. Sealer can be anything, does not have to be Modge Podge. Use a clear lacquer, or Water Based Polyurethane, etc.

For this I rarely use Mod Podge to seal, but Mod Podge does have a variety of formulas including Dish Washer Safe, and Outdoors, both make great sealers. But I also use Krylon. Also I have seen people mix the PVA glue with water for a Mod Podge type medium for decoupage, but hadn't thought of that for this process. Thank you for sharing that info. Have a wonderful day :)

Thank you for a terrific video! I wonder if rather than rubbing the paper off after it has been moistened well with water, if the tile could be placed in a tray of water to let the tile soak for 30 minutes or so. Maybe after a good soaking, especially in warm water, it would rub off quicker and easier? Thank you again!

Lowe's sells the 4"x4" ceramic tiles for 15 cents each. A box of 100 for $15. I bought a box of them last week and am using them to transfer my photographs. Also, instead of using cork, I'm using little clear rubbery pads for feet on each corner, because if they're used as coasters I want it completely washable and cork can get waterlogged. : ) I got those from Walmart for a couple of dollars for a pack of 48 I think.

Good info....thank you. However I don't know where you live but both Lowes and Home Depot here charge more like 85 cents for the 4x4's and oddly they charge less for the 6x6's.....but nothing as low as 15 cents anywhere I have ever been. You are lucky to be able to get them so cheap. I will have to look into the clear rubber pads....never seen them before. I love transferring photos on them.....makes them extra special. @@janiethecraftprincess I know it’s a couple of years later, but thanks for the great tutorial. Lowes sells 4x4 tiles nationally for 15 cents a piece (right now the 4x4 and 3x6 are both 15cents each). One challenge is that they also sell a higher quality one that looks very very similar for more $$. Look low on the shelf for the builder grade tiles. If checking online, lowes lists the cheap ones as “Hudson brilliant white glossy” glazed ceramic subway tile. I buy a LOT of these and have purchased at this price, recently, in Massachusetts, Nevada, and Oregon.

I just tried another photo to tile and it did the same thing as the first one, the image started coming off. I tried no not get it to wet and the paper started coming off, then with a little more rubbing to get more of the paper off, the image came loose and it was the end of that attempt. I have been using the Mod Podge with the yellow label, and I see you are using the other one with the white label. Could it be that I am not using enough adhesive? Thanks for your input.

Sorry I didn't reply right away but my computer was in the shop. Whatever sealer you decide to use, definitely put over the image/top of the tile. But of course if you want (or need) to add it to both sides, that is up to you. The main purpose is to protect the image.

It doesn't matter whre you get them printed as long as it is a laser printer and printed on regular printer/copy paper. This will not work if you are printing on photo paper. I came across you’re video and was amazed with the finished project. I’m attempting to do my own transfers of photos. I had copies done at Walmart they could only do prints on photo paper. Using all the items you suggested I’m unable to get the paper to peel off the photo. I use dripping wet washcloth with cold water but the photo didn’t seem to absorb any water. After rubbing about 5-7 mins with nothing I tried leaving the water sogged washcloth on the picture for about 3-4 hrs but still the paper wouldn’t peel off. Is there a different method when using actual photos. My current printer won’t allow me to choose different sizes that’s why I had them printed at a store. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess Жыл бұрын
This does not work with photo paper. As I stated at the beginning of my video, you need to use printer paper (copy paper), plain, not glossy.....just the regular paper you would use with your printer. I'm sorry you wasted your money on photos. I hope you didn't get many printed. If you can't print them yourself, then you need to go somewhere like Staples or Office depot (as I suggested) or other stationary store and have them print them for you on plain printer paper with a laser printer. Most printers......everyone I have ever had over the years.....offer the option in the settings to print different sizes. The options don't have custom choices, but 4x6 is a common option and sometimes there is a shrink to fit option. But you need to explore your printer settings. The settings usually pop up when you choose to print something. But your printer also needs to be a laser printer and not an inkjet printer. I don't what kind of printer you have. I truly feel bad that you went through all of that, thinking that it would work. It's important that for it to work that you follow all of the instructions. I hope you have better luck after getting your pictures or images laser printed on plain printer paper 😊 Hugs....Janie

I watched another video like this where the lady said she also used Mod Podge sealer (5 coats) and though it worked great for putting cold drinks on the coaster, it didn't work for hot drinks like hot tea or coffee. She said it started to melt through the sealer. So she ended up having to use a polyurethane (1-2 coats) instead because of wanting to use the coasters for hot drinks as well as cold drinks. Just a suggestion. :) I love the coaster idea!

Thank you for watching and for your suggestion. There are a variety of Mod Podges....even one that is dishwasher safe....and there is brush on and spray on. There are also other products like Krylon. Also some of them take up to 30 days to cure (set). My husband used his coaster (Mod Podged) within a few days (didn't let it cure) and his coffee cup was VERY hot and yes it left a fine thin ring (not overly noticable). So yes.....depending on what you use to seal it and how long you wait and how hot the items are you set on it.....it can "melt" the sealer. I used a matte spray and let it cure and did not have a problem. But anyone can use any sealer they want, I only showed a couple as I don't own every option there is and had not yet tried all the option I do have. The purpose of the video was to show how to transfer photos and printed images on to a variety of tiles (I also have a video on transfer to wood). I was not trying to show how to make coasters or trivets.....I was just saying that is an option for these. I mostly use mine for decor or cold drinks. But I appreciate your suggestion and will keep it in mind. Thank you :) Hugs...Janie

I was just re-reading your comment and realized you said the lady used FIVE COATS of Mod Podge! I only use one....2 max. I'm guessing the 5 coats and probably not letting it cure it was probably thick and soft. Maybe that's why my husbands only left a barely visible ring because I only used one coat (still did let it cure though). Anyway, I hope by now you are having fun doing your own experimenting :) Hugs...Janie

Absolutely possible....I used glazed tiles in the video. There can be many reasons it failed, but without knowing each step you took and how you did it I can't know. It would be the type of printer you used, the paper, if you put the paper on the correct direction, if you smoothed it so it was completely adhered to the tile, if you waited long enough, how wet it was, how you rubbed it off. So many many possibilities. I always suggest watching the video again and paying close attention to each detail of the directions. Feel free to tell what you used and how you did it AFTER you watch the video again.....the video might help you find what you did wrong. I will be happy to help if I can :) Hugs...Janie

It might be challenging to do if your tiles are already on the walls. It's best if they are laying flat and done individually and then put on the walls. I wish you luck and hope you are able to do it. Also, since you will be doing this in the bathroom or kitchen, be sure to use a waterproof sealer. And that is another concern.......if the tiles are already on the walls then I worry that the sealer will run/drip. But if you are able to pull this off I would love to hear about it. Good luck 😊 Hugs.....Janie

I would call a monument (grave stone making) company and ask them what they would advise. It's probably too late, but one could probably arrange for the company doing their stone to set the tile into the stone when they are preparing it, kind of like how marbles and mosaics are laid into wet cement.

Yes just take your pictures to a print shop or Staples or something.....be sure to tell them to print them with a laser printer on regular copy paper, NOT PHOTO PAPER. Most places will print an entire page of pictures for about 69 cents....so print several so you don't have to back and forth. It's fun to do.....experiment....and remember it might take a few tries before you get the hang of it :) Hugs...Janie

@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 2 жыл бұрын
I just replied to your comment on the other video. As my title says, this is how to TRANSFER photos and does not say anything about doing it with an inkjet printer. No it's not the same as decoupaging. If it was decoupaging, even "turned over" as you put it, you would be putting the Mod Podge on TOP and not UNDER the image, and with decoupage you don't rub off excess paper. This is a more indepth process as you saw if you watched the entire video. This is obviously not the process you are looking for. I think you will be happier with the decoupage process you saw in the other video. Different strokes for different folks. I love decoupage and do it often, but I also like this process for transfering photos to tiles and other things. I have another video on transfering to wood also. I like to do a variety of things and I share them all on my channel. I'm sorry we obviously got off on the wrong foot, I did not mean to offend anyone with the comment I left on the other video. Have a wonderful weekend.

As I showed at the beginning of the video, you need to use copy paper/printer paper. This will not work with photo paper or photos. Just plain basic copy paper that you would use for every day printing. All details on what paper and other products and type of printer are all expained in the video, as well as the process. It's best if you don't rush through the video or skip ahead as you might miss something important, such as what kind of paper to use. Also read what I wrote in the video description box. I have seen people use them in the bathroom and kitchen, but I personally have never done that. Mod Podge makes a Dishwasher Safe formula that might work for the shower. I have also discovered ArtResin which is a non-toxic resin that doesn't require any special eqiupment and that might work. Or you can ask at the hardware store which sealer is best for shower. Whatever you end up using, be sure to follow the directions for the sealer and let it sit as long as required for curing.......some require as long as 30 days for complete curing. It sounds like a lot of work but will probably be awesome if you can do it. Good luck 😊

Regular inkjet paper as you call it is the same as regular printer paper or copy paper and that's what I use. However in regard to the printer......inkjet printer ink tends to bleed, smear, and fade when you get it wet. You can get it laser printed at an office supply store like Staples or Office Depot or maybe even a smaller local printer. However if you are determined to try it with an inkjet printer I suggest you let the printed image dry about 24 hours before starting this process as the ink takes longer to dry where as laser printing is immediately dry. Good luck :) Hugs....Janie

What do you clean the tile with to get dust, debris and oil off
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess Жыл бұрын
If you are talking about the tile before starting the photo transfer process, mine didn't have dust and debris and oil on them, but I would suggest cleaning them with soap and water, or alcohol, or Windex. They are just tiles like you would have in your bathroom or kitchen so you would just clean them the same way you would clean those. After you have done the photo transfer, and after the sealer has cured, I would use a warm damp cloth, or I'm sure you could use soap and water. Just how you would clean anything else.

Can you put a hot coffee mug or casserole dish on these after they cure
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 3 жыл бұрын
It will depend on what you use to seal it. It has been so long ago since I have done this that I don't remember which sealers worked best. I personally prefer Krylon clear UV resistant sealer which is also moisture resistant....it's a spray so it doesn't leave brush marks. I do know it's important to allow about 30 days to cure. I have not put a hot casserole dish on one but have put a hot coffee mug on them, and on occasion it may momentarily stick, but other than that has done just fine. I don't do this professional, I do this for personal use. I would suggest doing some research on sealers to find one that might be heat resistant if you need professional results. Mod Podge makes a dishwasher safe formula and I have seen people use that on coffee mugs so I think that might be a good choice, or look at a few Krylon options. I wish I could be of more help. But I'm happy with my results. Thanks for stopping by.

@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. And interesting questions. Why would you want to use cleanser on it???? Even with a good sealer the cleanser is abrasive and would scratch the sealer. And you definitely wouldn't want to use cleanser on it before adding a sealer. And why would you want to put it in the dishwaser instead of just wiping it off? Mod Podge does make a Dishwasher Safe formula that you can use to seal it.....and I guess if you use that both front and back on the tile it could be dishwaser safe. Most tiles are made to get wet on the front but I really don't know about the back. I'm not a tile expert just a crafter. As you can see by the title this video is about transferring to tiles. But if you are putting the image on a plate, as you mentioned, I'm not sure it would be safe to eat off, but it would be dishwasher safe if you use a sealer that is dishwasher safe like the Mod Podge one I mentioned. I know people have used the Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge on the oustide of a mug. But I don't have all the answers, sorry. I'm just a crafter and shared what I do know, and from there you need to do your own experimenting. Good luck :) Hugs....Janie

@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 5 жыл бұрын
First of all.....your question isn't dumb....you are new to crafting. That particular one is called photo transfer medium but it doesn't neccessarily mean it's only for photos....it's for transfering anything you print off your printer, including words. You can also use other Mod Podge formulas such as Matte. However remember when transfering words you will need to print them mirror image or t-shirt transfer mode (flipped) otherwise they will transfer backwards. Now back to Mod Podge.....the photo transfer Mod Podge will give a white background, and the Matte Mod Podge will be clear. Be sure to use regular printer paper and not photo paper. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions that aren't addressed in my video please feel free to ask and I will do my best to help :) Hugs...Janie (P.S. I'm older than you)

But like I always say.....try it! Just try it on one and if it doesn't work then it's not a big loss. In fact I would only try doing one at a time when starting out because it's a learning thing. You learn from what doesn't work and what does work. So don't rush into doing several at a time. One at a time until you're a pro at it 😊 Hugs....Janie

What happens if the tyle is colored
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess Жыл бұрын
If the tile is colored and you use regular Mod Podge, the color of the tile will show through and change the color of your image. BUT...if you use the Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium that I show in the video (and there is a link in the video description box), it is white and will provide a white background for your photo no matter what color the tile is 😊

It depends on your printer program or editing program. Just look for the option for mirror image printing or a flip option in your printer settings or editing program. I wish I could be of more help, but every printer is different, every computer is different, every editing program is different, which makes it impossible for me tell you exactly how to do it. I hope you are able to find that option. Good luck 😊

Great video!! Quick question!!! Does it HAVE to be digital paper? Can scrap book paper be used to transfer the image over to the ceramic/stone tile????
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. The paper used is regular printer/copy paper and the images need to printed from a Laser printer....ink jet doesn't work so well. I have never tried it with with pre-printed papers like you would get in a pad and doubt seriously that it would work, but you can try it if you don't have a printer or don't have a place like Staples or other stationary to store to print it for you. I checked with Office Depot for a friend and found out they only charge 69 cents to print a whole sheet of color pictures and that's an awesome deal. However if you do have a printer and a scanner you can alway scan in your favorite papers and print them out to use. If you try your pre-printed papers and it works please let me know. And if you have any other questions feel free to ask me :) Hugs...Janie

TOday (April 13, 2021) I picked up these same tiles at Home Depot and they were .98 per square foot...so then end up costing only .08 cents each! :) As far as the sealer goes, I'm concerned about a hot coffee mug sticking to the surface...have reviewed many videos and a decent resin is expensive, but can work. Thoughts?
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 3 жыл бұрын
The tiles I got are not sold by the square foot but are priced individually. I wish I could have got them for the great price you got because I would have bought a lot....LOL. I do not use expensive sealers......I use Krylon spray sealer (there is a variety from them), and Mod Podge. Mod Podge might not be as good, but they do have a Dishwasher Safe formula that I haven't tried yet that might work. I have used so many I don't know which is which on my tiles, but I show in my video. As for a hot coffee mug sticking to the surface.......first important thing is that it needs to cure for about 30 days before sitting a hot coffee mug on it. And yes it's possible for it to stick slightly momentarily, but not permanently....you can still lift it off. In fact I just did a test on one of my tile coasters for you and it stuck for a second but only the first time I picked the mug up, and I don't know if it was one with Mod Podge or Krylon so I tried another coaster with no problem. As for resin, I have never used it as I don't feel it's safe to work with.. I can only suggest the products I have used, but it might be worth trying Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge even though I have not yet tried it. I prefer using a spray like Krylon to avoid brush strokes. I'm sure you'll find what works best for you. Good luck :) Hugs....Janie

Janie - is there a way to make this UV resistant? I want to make one for a roadside memorial for an officer but it faces south so will have the California sun on it all day most days!
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 3 жыл бұрын
I believe I showed it in the video but it's been so long I don't remember, but I use Krylon spray sealer a lot because it protects from UV. The best might by Krylon UV-Resistant Clear Acrylic Coating......it comes in a spray can. But there might be others. I think what you are doing is special. I don't know where in CA you live but I used to live in the Inland Empire and had friends that were police officers in San Bernardino......and one was killed making an arrest and my youngest son was named after him. So I really do feel for what you're doing. One thing I forgot to share in this video is that once you feel you have rubbed off all the paper, if it still looks "foggy" when it's dry don't worry because once you put the sealer on it will look clear again like it did when it was wet. Good luck and God's blessings :) Hugs....Janie

What would you have to do to one of these tiles to make it waterproof enough to install in a bathroom near the shower, but not directly in it? What's the best way to seal it for that purpose? Would clear acrylic spray be good enough?
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 5 жыл бұрын
As you can see in the video you use water to take off the paper but it does not take off the image… So water is not an issue. But no matter what you use it for you should put a sealer over it of some sort… There are a lot of waterproof sealer‘s if that is what you’re looking for… I put mod podge over mine and I can hand wash them. I hope this helps :). Hugs...Janie

Is your tiles weather proof because I would like to use it for headstones of the pets that are buried in the yard…..
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 2 жыл бұрын
Well they are not my tiles....I didn't make them, I only decorated them.....but you can ask at Home Depot or Lowes or wherever you buy them. I would presume they are waterproof since I believe they are made for bathrooms and kitchens. Now if you are asking about the sealer, that will depend on the sealer you use. For example, Mod Podge makes an Outdoor formula, and I'm sure Krylon makes something that is weatherproof as well. I know I have a Krylon spray sealer that is UV resistant and moisture resistant. BUT.....I recently discoverd an easy to use non-toxic resin by ArtResin and that just might be the perfect thing. Here is a link to their website www.artresin.com/ I wish you the best in finding the right products to make the headstones for your precious fur babies. So sorry for your loss.....we lost 2 last year. 💗🤗 Hugs....Janie

Of course it can be done on curved surfaces......it is not shape related. However if you are using this on an eating/drinking surface you will need to use a non-toxic sealer that is waterproof. I would suggest Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe and it's also non-toxic. Here is a link (my Amazon affiliate link) and at the moment it is on sale for more than 50% off amzn.to/3lf1PJ7 I hope this helps. Leena Chandi LOL… It doesn’t matter whether it is text or a photo or a digital image or whatever you want it to be as long as you print it with a laser printer on printer/copy paper...And obviously if you are using text you are going to want it to be mirror image the same way you would print it out for a T-shirt otherwise it will be backwards. And it doesn’t matter whether you do it on the entire surface or a part of the surface. The most important thing is to follow all of the directions very carefully. Good luck :) Hugs...Janie

@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 9 ай бұрын
I'm sorry but I have no idea why you are having this problem. I would have to watch every step you take. If you are using a Laser printer and regular copy paper/printer paper, then the colors should not be smearing at all. I have had people tell me they are having problems, just to discover they are not following the instructions exactly. For example, the paper needs to be copy paper......not glossy, not photo, not cardstock......basic copy paper. But that is only one step. I would need to know how you are applying it. Are you placing it face down (printed image down)......are you using Mod Podge Matte, or Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium, or something else? Are making sure the paper is firmly pressed against the tile.....no air bubbles? How long are you letting it sit before starting the removal process? What is your removal process. As you can see there are MANY things that if done wrong can cause this process to not work. My best advice is for you to watch the entire video.....do not try to skip ahead or you might miss something important......pay attention to each step.....maybe you will find where you went wrong. Good luck 😊

@@janiethecraftprincess hello, thank you for the reply, I did find a couple things I did wrong- one I wasn’t getting it wet enough, At first I missed the part where you said not wring ring out the wash cloth. I am also using sponge rather than a washcloth, I also found that I cannot use the same washcloth on more than one tile. They do look a little better. I am using the correct paper, and printer. I am also using the photo transfer mod podge as you showed in the video. I am putting an even layer on the tile, do I need more? It is a thin even layer that I have been applying. If I could have your email address maybe I could send you pictures of mine? You may be able to notice what I am doing wrong.

@@kellyluma7475 Hi Kelly. It doesn't matter whether you use a washcloth, sponge, or just your fingers. I did not wring it out in the beginning because I need to saturate it first. After that just get it as wet as needed, but not soaked. As for the Mod Podge Photo Transfer Medium......you can actually apply it directly to the image if you want. You don't want it too thin of a layer, but you also don't want it glopped on. Follow the directions on the bottle if you are unsure. But make sure there is COMPLETE contact of the paper to the tile. I'm not sure just seeing pictures would help me figure out the problem. You are welcome to post pictures in my FB group, Crafter's Castle facebook.com/groups/194715441419158 Honestly, like I said before, the best advice I can give is to watch the video and follow those steps. Hi there I have been trying to make your coasters all afternoon and although you make your videos so easy to follow, I’m having dramas. I have glass tiles and followed you but when I rubbed the paper off they dried all white. I wetted them again but after rubbing for ever, I could still feel the paper. Then the paper and mod Podge just slid off. I guess it’s because I used glass tiles. Do the tiles have to be unglazed. Any tips please Louisa
@janiethecraftprincess
@janiethecraftprincess 5 жыл бұрын
I am so sorry you are having so much trouble. Without me being there I can't really know what you are doing so I'm not sure what's going wrong. To answer your one question no the tiles do not need to be unglazed. As you saw in the video I used glazed tiles (shiney glossy slick) as well as unglazed. Questions that come to mind for me are.......what kind of paper are you using?......what kind of Mod podge or transfer medium are you using?.....what kind of printer are you using?....how long did you let it dry before wetting it to remove the paper? The next thing I want to address is that you said no matter how much you rub you can still feel the paper....I am thinking you are expecting this to be like infusable ink (a special ink that is heat transfered and becomes a part of the tile or fabric it's applied to).....this is not that so it will not infuse into the tile. You will still feel some of the paper......I have a video on doing this process with wood and in that case the ink does absorb into the wood. But for a non-porus surface it's not possible for the ink to absorb (unless using an infusable ink process). Once your image is clearly visible when wet, then let it dry. After it dries you need to apply a sealer.....depending on what you want to do with your tile will depend on what you seal it with. The sealer will bring you image to life again (as if it were wet). Everything I did was in the video and other than the information I just gave you I really can't help anymore other than if you answer the questions I asked and I can see if you using the wrong products or not waiting long enough. Please feel free to give me the answers to my questions and I will see if I can help further :) Hugs...Janie
