I am so confused. I buy and read books from my amazon kindle app. I only use the kindle app, so I am not sure where to find the serial number you are talking about. I also checked amazon's site under my account, and I cannot find what you are talking about.

Hi there! You can’t transfer books over unless you have a physical Amazon kindle device - that’s how you’d get a serial number. I’m not sure about the process if you use the app!

I'm in the same situation and I think I've found the serial number on the app. I also think you need to connect you phone to your computer for this but I'm not sure, nor have I tried this to know that this is in fact the serial number. But I clicked on the menu on the bottom right on the app that says "more" then almost at the bottom I clicked on "info" and lastly I chose the top option "about". The information there really looks like a serial number (at least I really hope it is 😅).

Hey Subha! Thank you for this. It worked perfectly, for the most part! I had a few mangas too, and when I added those on Kobo Plus, it's giving an error message saying I need to create an Adobe ID etc. Any ideas why or what I can do to resolve it?

Hi Ankita, so glad this was helpful for you! hmm, I've actually never seen the Adobe ID before. maybe that's just for mangas? Have you tried creating an Adobe ID and seeing what happens?

when I go to install the plug in it wont accept it. It brings up and error notice saying "Error: Unhandled Exception. Invalid plug in"

I followed the steps until I reach load plugin from file. I then get an error message saying "InvalidPlugin: The plugin in 'C:\\Downloads\\DeDRM_tools_10.0.3.zip' is invalid. It does not contain top-level_init_.py file. How do I fix this?

the master contains a python script that has to be run in the terminal in order to create a DeDRM_tools.zip. That file should then be unzipped and in the obtained folder you'll find the DeDRM_plugin.zip file needed. hope this helps!

I don't have a kindle, so cannot get past the serial number part. I downloaded the android and PC app, but they do not have serial codes. Amazon won't let me download my ebooks to transfer via USB Any tips?

Hey there! As long as you own your Kindle and it has a serial number, it should work just fine (forever)! - I believe so. I'm not a pro but I'm just guessing! haha
