Kindle vs Kobo: The Colour E-Ink Showdown

Hello! This video was uploaded yesterday (November 6, 2024), and I received a lot of comments about the audio being messed up. I went back to the original, made some tweaks, and responded. It sounds better than it did but is still a little janky. I apologize for that. I'm not sure what it is about this particular audio that is making KZbin glitch out, but I don't think there's much more I can do. Thanks for watching and for the feedback on the original. I'm not getting the kindle color, but I have the paperwhite and the kobo libra colour and I prefer my kobo in every single way to my kindle.

@@osvaldoalvarado752 I like the buttons, I think the design looks better, I like the software WAY better than kindles, I like that I can add books via my google drive, the screen seems to give me way less headaches though I’m prone to migraines so not everyone is going to have that issue. I like that you can access your library’s catalog right on the kobo, I like all of the analytics it has while reading, and I like on the lock screen it tells you what percent you’re into the book, how long it will take to finish it, and if you’re charging it’ll tell you what percent it’s at. It also feels nicer to hold and I don’t have to move my hand since my finger rests on the buttons.

nice comparison. I've been with the Kindle since the original so I have a fair amount of books which I imagine would take forever to transfer from Calibre -> kobo. I don't even care about colour but just wanted a faster Oasis but an Oasis colour would have been nice. Sounds like the Kobo libra colour would be fine except my old library and all the Kindle stuff you mentioned. Guess I'll wait either for a faster kindle w/buttons or a sale on the libra colour.

It honestly took me about 2 hours to download my 600 e books from Amazon and about 30 seconds to remove the protection and transfer them to my Kobo. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting

I think you're right that if you're wanting a stylus, there's really no comparison to be made. TBH, I think that's one of the failings of the Colorsoft. I imagine you do have to do your research though, and only buy styluses that work well with the screen. I use a Metapen M1, and it seems to work fine for me. The biggest problem I've had with the stylus is that writing on the Kobo feels like writing on glass (which essentially, it is). I might look and see if there's a screen protector that makes it feel more like paper.

Heavy weight for me is no no. I also buy phone based on weight. So, I guess it's Kobo for me.

Aw, man, I’m jealous but happy for you. I currently have both, but I’ll be trading one in soon. As much as I love having them both, there’s also a little guilt that one of them will always be used less than the other. 😅

I Don't have ereader but i have kindle account and I send EPUB to it, and it's Working well
