Enjoyed watching your labour with the Princeps. I transplanted a Butia Capitata with 50cm tall trunk and it took 4 years of dying leaves and zero growth before it perked up this year. My Brahea blue palm 65 cm trunk spent 2 years sulking before perking up. Hope your Princeps makes a new leaf a lot quicker than my two! I think Trachys are a lot less sensitive to root disturbance than Butias and Braheas. What do you reckon ?

Yes I think so. Trachycarpus transplant pretty well, Butia ok but Brahea can die when transplanted so you've done well.

Do you ever use mycorrhizal fungi when transplanting biggish palms like this? Would it make any difference do you think? They're lovely healthy looking plants. Great stuff again🙂

I don't. I know there's probably a benefit of doing so I've not seen any evidence they're a noticeable difference with palms.

Princeps hybrid grows really fast. Princeps the species is much slower in the first 10 years

hi, kris when you are putting the palms in the beds on the right in the pictureframe there is a big tree i guess with dark unusual leaves can you please say what plant it is .best regards
