This is great advice that may save my seedlings & flowers🙏🌷🌱 I just had an interesting thought about what the attraction could be for them where I live ... House stumps that have wood rot?? Hmmm, not a nice thought! As if it's not enough of a concern ... Now I am imagining earwigs down there munching away on my rotting stumps! They will be getting replaced but not soon enough, so will have to use the canola oil in the meantime 👌

I don’t know. Give it a try. Make sure there is no other food source around for them. They like decaying matter. Apparently they like beer too. I put out beer traps for Rollie Pollies and caught earwigs instead. 😂

I wonder if a person could put mostly water in the bottom of the container and put 1/4 or 1/2 inch of oil on top with a little soy or Worcestershire sauce in with it. I got a bottle of canola oil especially for the earwig traps. Thanks for sharing your experience.

If I'm understanding correctly, you cut the bottle in half and put the opened top upside down into the bottom? Then maybe about 1/2 full of oil? That is AMAZING how many you caught!! I have never (or maybe one a year or two years) had them until recently. Now I'm seeing them more frequently when we get a lot of rain.

AndJustLikeThat Hi , we did everything. Sevin in the lawn, bug bombs all over the inside, some sort of other bug juice all over the perimeter of the house. They were EVERYWHERE still. I found clusters in the basement. I even found them in my bed!!! The only thing that truly helped was calling an exterminator. Its been a few wks since he was here and I have only seen a few inside the house. He is going to come for a retreatment since it is included in the price I paid. It was like $180 and so worth it because those little buggers invaded my home so bad! The exterminator said he never saw anything like it ... the oil traps help , keep doing those.
@MidnightSunshine274 жыл бұрын

@kimfarr874 жыл бұрын
AndJustLikeThat im glad I gave you hope and help you not feel alone. Most people talk about the bugs being in their garden, not home!!! Another thing when you bomb them or exterminate , is they die off slowly over 7-10 days. Some might die right away, but some might take a few days. I cleaned dead bugs up for like a week after the exterminator came. Good luck!!!!
