I decided to rent a car and drive there. A bit of a learning curve and my friend and I got lost in a tunnel for a bit but we made it there by sunset. The journey back was a little tough in the dark. This was basically "countryside" so the roads were small and kinda hard until we made it back to the highway.

Sounds like an experience!-I drove in few countries it never thought about Japan - but Japan is the best place for train experiences
