For everyone saying "why did she talk for so long before getting to the treatments?!" and "she talks too much", some people (such as myself) actually find the information she gives us helpful. Because I was working out I became more conscious of what I was eating because I thought I was going to waste what I worked hard for if I don't change my diet. Re-posting my comment for visibility and to help out the fellas suffering from possible fungal acne: On a side note, just to be safe I avoid the following ingredients that can trigger fungal breakouts: Galactomyces Saccharomyces Natto Gum (soy protein derivative) Polysorbates (all numbers, 20, 40, 60 etc) Adenosine (yeast derived ingredient, used for wrinkles) Possible triggers: 1. Beta Glucan (if derived from yeast but sometimes, there is no way of knowing how the beta glucna is dervied, so I just avoid it) 2. Biosaccharide Gum - 1 (saccharide, which is sugar CAN feed yeast but information on this is contradictory so just be careful however, be aware that this is made from fermented plants). 3. I am NOT SURE OF THIS but anything with *lactobacillus FERMENT* but I am very sure that this is a good kind of bacteria, but for some reason, I still avoid it out of caution because my skin is just annoyingly reactive. Possible *skincare brands and lines* that use these fungal triggering ingredients: 1. *COSRX* Fermented/whitening line: galactomyces essence for example. Cosrx Goodmorning LOW pH cleanser - has saccharomyces ferment Cosrx Daily gentle Cleanser - has saccharomyces ferment 2.) *KLAIRS:* Supple preparation toner - has natto gum, and beta glucan Klairs VIT C juice drop - Polysorbate 60 Rich Moist Soothing Cream - Natto gum Rich Moist Serum - Natto gum Midday Blue lotion/sunscream - Lactobacillus Ferment and Adenosine 3.) *Innisfree* Green Tea Serum - has biosaccharide gum - 1 so just be wary 4.) *Missha and SK* essences. Unfortunately, a lot of Korean essences 5. *BENTON* Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence has polysorbate now. Even the blog that Liah used as a source has confirmed that the newer versions have been reformulated.

@ivanaerenda22056 жыл бұрын
wimbletone Lactobacillus are good bacterias, present in our body, they are important for metabolism and many other colon work. They come from milk derivatives, ie. Yoghurt - which can be used as effective calming and nourishing mask on the skin (including on inflamed akne or skin burns). As someone with hypersensitive skin, I'll recomend you to try baking soda on this type of acne since it's both exfoliating and topical antiseptic, just look for one finely mild and use it on previously cleaned skin (after usual cleanser or body wash). Keep in mind, it's drying do you need to moisturise right after.
@thamizhthendral314 жыл бұрын
Guys, I'm gonna try this and I'll update once in every three days. I already have a shampoo which has Ketoconazole and Zinc Pyrithione that was prescribed to me by my dermatologist for my hair. This will be my routine : I'll be washing my face with a Salicylic acid based face wash. And after that I'll apply the shampoo to the affected areas till it gets dry. So maybe like 10-15 mins, cleansing it with warm water after. Then I'll apply raw honey for sometime, and also wash it out. Then for moisturizing I'll apply Aloe Vera gel. I'll do this everyday for a week and once after another day the next week. My skin is oily and I've been having fungal acne for 5+ years. Since I'm a teenager, I always thought it'll fade away but it didn't. It came and went. So I'm hoping this works. This will be my honest opinion :D Day 1 : Skin is soft. The pimples are like a little not bumpy if that makes sense. Day 5: Sorry for the delay. My skin is a lot smoother and clear. I had some itchy feeling around my bumps before this but they seem to have reduced. However, this treatment is making my skin a bit more oily but my Aloe Vera gel and my Hyaluronic Acid based moisturizer is helping me. Will update more on Day 8 Day 8: The bumps on my cheeks have almost faded, only some are there. But still there is more on my forehead but it's a lot better than before. My only concern is that my skin is more oily but washing my face helps with it. I'm also using Fulller's Earth powder mixed with Rose Water for my oily skin as it has always helped me. I've noticed that using it does not affect my other shampoo, honey treatment. Also my itchiness has almost stopped. Only getting it once in awhile. More on Day 11. Day 11: Oh gosh this is working wonders on my skin! I'm falling in love with this routine everyday. My overall skin condition is improved from doing this, also working out, eating citrus fruits and cutting out dairy and dairy related products. From today I'll be using this one day after another, for one week :) Day 18 (final update) : Wow, I can't believe it. My skin is clear after AGES. I have some breakouts then and there but it fades within days. I followed my routine completely and got the best results. I really hope I don't get it after stopping it. Will recommended this for everyone with fungal acne, however experiment and change it up according to your preferences and always do a patch test.

I so feel you! I've been struggling with fungal acne for years! When it flares up, it lasts for months and my self-confidence is totally shot. I cry all of the time. It's nice to hear that I am not alone at least. Now that I know what type of acne I have, it's all about using the right products. My most recent flare up started a few months ago and I was using the wrong products that made it worse. If you have access to it, try Ketoconazole, or Nizoral shampoo. I know shampoo on the face sounds strange but like Liah said, it really does work. After you cleanse, apply the shampoo to the infected area (mine is on the forehead) for about 15 minutes. Cleanse with a face wash that contains salicylic acid (fights fungal infections). Stay away from heavy moisturizers. I've been doing this for about a week now and my forehead is finally clearing up. I know I have long journey ahead of trying different suggested products but I'm confident that I will get this acne under control and you will too! Don't give up and don't let it control you!

I definitely with Liah on her SKINCARE tips. But if a fungal overgrowth is happening within the body, then proper diet changes and supplemental advice from a professional is essential as well. I got this type of acne after my hormones became unbalanced and my body became vulnerable. Being gluten free, adding more alkaline foods (fermented foods are a no for my skin although some are different), detoxing my entire body (liver, digestive, parasite, foot soaks, detox foot pads, mental detox, armpit detox, and etc), supplementing with antimicrobial, hormone balancing, yeast reducing supplements, proper hydration are all essential in helping me maintain my health, weight, and skin. Skin is a holistic approach and I am a firm believer in natural products, k beauty products, DMK products.

Yeaa it took my body actually 2-3 months for it to get used to the new water routine and I do get occasional small breakouts due to excess sunscreen or my periods lol but it's wayyy better and I really don't have to do much for it to go away . Just sip water and stay stress free about what I eat .

I read the article you sourced down, and you forgot to mention Tea Tree Oil! “A few in vitro and in vivo studies have shown that Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree oil) has strong antimicrobial properties against malassezia including M. furfur.” I had fungal acne when I was 10! When became 12 or 13, I discovered Lush! I bought their Tea Tree water (which includes Melaleuca alternifolia!) and coalface cleanser. In the summer after a few months, my mom and aunts said it really reduced my acne and skin (lol). I now realized that I was really lucky to came across it. My skin still has some of them and scars on my forehead plus normal acne since I’m still a teen. Also, “If you plan on using tea tree oil, make sure to dilute it at 1% concentration or less. Tea tree oil can be very irritating on the skin, so play it safe.” I got lazy writing this. Hopes it helps :))

My tips to not get them at the first place based on my experience: 1. Dont use makeup while exercising 2. Dont let sweat linger on your skin too long, wipe it off with a clean tissue or towel 3. Wash ur face n shower right after you excercise, or jst soon dont delay that

actually, for those of you in the comments arguing about diet, a lot of people will tell you it’s quite true that what you put into your body eventually leads back to your skin! Since yeast promotes sezia growth, eating foods with gluten ingredients can really flare up your skin! Stuff like starches and sugars can feed fungal acne as well, and dairy does the same. My sisters and I have all been cursed with fungal acne and we’ve found out (with the confirmation of many dermatologists) that what you eat really does make a huuuuge difference! It’s a hard diet to follow but once you get the hang of it your skin and gut will thank you! Trust me, it’s not just a myth Hope this helped those of you wondering about diet! ❤️

Depending on the reason you have dandruff (I have basically the scalp version of what Liah was talking about here, seborrheic dermatitis, ie fungal infection), different things will work. Apple cider vinegar and T-gel did nothing for me. Same for head and shoulders, selsun blue, etc. Neem oil helped reduce flakes and scales slightly, but not completely. The only thing that has worked for me was Ketoconazole (Nizoral shampoo)

I’ve been using rice water on my face two to three times a day as a toner for about a week now and 70% of my fungal acne has disappeared. To make it, wash your brown rice and soak it with water for about 12 hours. I transferred the strained water to a bottle and keep in in the fridge (important or it will go bad). I also double cleanse when I wear makeup, use gentle cleansers and moisturizers, use a matte moisturizer with tea tree oil (the elf one in the pink bottle is a good one and it’s cheap) during hot days, use bb cream with salicylic acid to cover redness but don’t wear heavy makeup or super greasy sunscreen (la roche posay has a 60 spf matte sunscreen that works well) and use honey/ matcha face masks on my face every other day. I hope this helps. I also recommend steaming your face if you have time in your routine. I know how bad it is, you got this!

This is going to be sort of long, I have been struggling with acne for almost 3 years now. It has taken so much of my time, my money, self confidence. In fact, I even got bangs to cover myself up and I don't let anyone see me without it. I am very aware that this makes your acne or fungal acne worse but this is the best I can do. I have done everything to make skin clear, I've tried different brands and everything. Everyday it just gets worse and new ones start coming. This has affected me so much that I cover my face entirely, using masks or anything at all to cover myself up. I even stopped focusing on my grades because I just wanted to feel pretty and clean. So to all the ones out there with the same problem. I just wanna let you know that you are not alone. I know how much these things affect your body image and stuff. It's tiring to see all these girls on the internet with flawless skin, perfect hair, amazing clothes, perfect body and amazing life. It makes us compare ourselves and ruin ourselves even more. It's completely natural for these things to appear. I hope whoever is reading this doesn't head to the same path that I did. I really hope you don't have to feel ugly because of these things. I'm insecure but I'm working really hard on it. My past wasn't really the best so I didn't take care of myself for months and well it lead to this. But now, I'm ready to make a change. I hope you are too. I love you

I never cleansed my face, washed it, nothing. So I decided to buy this micellar cleansing gel, which helped me out so so so much. I’ve used it for two days and my skin is almost cleared up. My skin is a mix between everything, but very sensitive. I react badly to almost every single product. So yeah that’s my story :3

Just wanna share that I watched this a year a go and I have tried almost all the possible solutions/treatment given in this video. First, for the ketaconazole, I tried putting an anti dandruff shampoo on the affected area (mostly my forehead) and it really didn't helped me much and it also caused my forehead to dry out so much. For the honey, I'm not really able to use this since, for some reason, my face hated honey. When I use it I unusually get a pimple. So this is a no. For the salicylic acid, i tried the TO one but it really didn't give me good results enough since the bumps were still there even with continuous use. But I did noticed that my skin was glowing so much. I then tried the TO BHA and AHA peeling solution. This guy stings like hell and makes me just want to claw my face out. But after using this for atleast a month, all the bumps on my face suddenly disappeared and I never had a pimple again. I follow the TO peeling solution with a Snail mask and I've never been more happier with my skin as of now. (I use the peeling solution every three days since I realized that i have such tough skin and that closer use of it will contribute to a faster improvement to my skin. But u guys should try using it for once a week first and then increase usage per week. And you should really hydrate your face after use since this can cause the face to become red and dry for some people.)

I have so SOOO much post inflammation hyperpigmentation. I’ve been following your account for the longest time and I’ve learnt so so much about all the ingredients! I’ve tried a lot of products containing niacinamide. Still using laroche posay cream. I think it’s the blue bottle! And many more cream and gels that claims to reduce scars but all has no use :( or should I say it has but it’s taking so so slow and my face is continuously producing more acne. My acne is always very inflamed and red. Hence, leaving like very red/purple post marks/scars :( . I’m 18. And wanting to try the vitamin c and retinol? Idk if it’s going to be any use but I’ve seen you reviewing it and using it plenty of times! Would love for you to do videos on these kind of Super bad pigmentation from acne. I will Super duper appreciate it.! Ps: pls make your products available in sg soon!

Sora Pongpet omg I suggest the A'Pieu Madecassoside moisturizer. It heals and cools the skin, and for what it did with my itchiness and irritation, $12 was a STEAL. Look on amazon. It's my holy grail

I have drier skin but I've been using tamanu oil and it's helping my acne alot. It's also cleared up my keratosis pilaris

If you keep getting acnes maybe it's best to eliminate the root causes by changing your diet and lifestyle. Liah and many other youtubers have videos on that subject.

Me too. I found any Vit C serum is making me breakout. Lemon juice though is fine (which i dont get). Anyway just dilute it and put it on with cotton, swipe it and then use as a facial mask for 15mins. I see my skin getting brighter and I hope after using a few more months, my hyperpigmentation would fade. If not i may just get the laser treatment for my redness 😭

Losshe yes that's true! I started eating only plant based diet and it helped also.

How do you tell whether or not it is fungal or just closed comedones? I have little bumps all over my face, but my face doesn't really itch all that often and *nasty alert* they can be squeezed most of the time. I've stalked SkincareAddiction and AsianBeauty on reddit, but I don't know what to do/what it is. Tretinoin took care of them in the past, but i just can't afford the derm right now.

Natalie Fletcher right? I have them on my cheeks area. And I realise, it will triggerly itched when I take in anything dairy. Especially milk. And they won't go away...😢

Have you tried AHA/BHA I see that all over reddit, but I don't know how long to expect it to take or how often to use it ):

Fungal acne specifically itches and can rarely be popped, likely those are just closed comodones. I've had the fungus before (as she mentioned, tropical climates are a trigger and I lived in the tropics my whole life) and I used an anti-fungal cream to get rid of it. In your case, you may want to look into buying Vitiman A pills, breaking them open, and applying it topically. Chemical exfoliants may also be in your favor, as they remove layers of dead skin gently and efficiently.

Natalie Fletcher I use to have closed comedones but I started using niacinamide and zinc 1% and they started going away!
