@@nasworldwide I did indeed! The secret for me was meditation+prayer. Positive affirmations everynight and morning with headphones. Binaural beats. "Facing The Demons" Inner Fears, Doubts, Insecurities. Rationalizing why these specific thoughts were present. Letting Go Of The need to control. Theres this Meditation Guide Named Micheal Sealey here on KZbin. He was my main go to everyday. I listen to gospel music constantly. The thoughts didnt dissappear overnight. But one morning I woke up to silence. The most beautiful feeling I have ever felt. I could cry just from the thought alone.

OCD is more easily developped in people that have personality disorders, and specially doubting themselves constantly. Since ocd is a doubting and checking and re cheking disorder....its roots go back as early as when we started doubting ourselves. with that doubt if a trauma happens, it creates such atrocious anxiety in the person with existing doubt about themselves, that the only thing left is by relieving the fear and anxiety by compulsive behaviours, only to unforotunatley worsen the ocd itself and have more disturbing obsessive thoughts.

Not trying to be make myself look like a victim but having OCD is one of the hardest aspects of my life right now. I'm not an adult, so I don't carry as much responsibilities as them and don't have as much stress and anxiety as they do. However, as a teenager school is my biggest responsibility and OCD doesn't allow me to fully give it my all, this Demon just destroys me from the inside and I don't tell any of my friends or teachers, I'm a very closed person when it comes to those topics. I was diagnosed with OCD last year, I was just about to turn 13 and I remember being so conflicted with these intrusive thoughts, that I missed like two weeks of school. For two weeks I fought against it, kind of how the video said, like a warfare. I was finally able to beat it but I new that it would keep coming, with the the help of the pills I took the anxiety went down I could control it better but I just recently stopped taking them and having to deal with it alone.. it's hard. I know I'm going to beat this demon that lives inside of me, and if anyone reading this has OCD... just know that, you can beat it too. PS: I there's any grammatical mistakes sorry, English is my second language and I'm not the best at it.😁

Also the two weeks I missed school was when it got to a point that it was uncontrollable, I had been dealing with it for a long time before.

OCD sucks, but it is manageable. Unfortunately there isn't a magic pill you can take to get rid of it. I stopped the medication myself because it didn't cure the problem, but just made me into a zombie with OCD. I struggle sometimes, but hey, nobody said this life would be easy. I don't fool myself, but I've been trying to learn to stay in the moment, not the past and what my actions will bring in the future. If I do, my OCD will take control, and the great anxiety begins. The what if questions always crop up, but I push them back and move on. Sometimes it works, and sometimes I take a few steps back. No biggey, I just pick myself up and don't beat myself up over it. I hope you are doing well.

You will recover if you beleive you can recover... In my view OCD is just chronic depression but to different people it's different things... But let me just say its always possible to recover, always... Just that sometimes those pathways are always obvious to us... But I understand it can be hard when your in OCD grasp, depleting mental energy etc.. but just try and accept things.. or at least use more helpful Behaviors instead of being anrgh of frustrated all the time..

I don't even know what my problem is. I can't find out. I don't think it's ocd. And I don't think it's perfectionism. I always tend to "restart" things because of one little thing that went wrong. I think that one thing that went wrong will mess up the whole thing, so I have to restart. Once I finally finish the whole thing, I look back at it and tell myself "I should've done this, or that". And scrap the whole thing just to restart. And I can't.... stop.... doing this!

I have so much enough of OCD. Usually not commenting videos because it litteraly paralyse me at every moment. I have a word that repeats constantly itself in my mind, and this since months. It's so horrible, my anxiety peaks every day and my social life and studies have drown. I'm so much more than this shit, and I can't figure out how to get it out, though I have documented myself for days on the internet. I've even met a psycho last month thinking it would improve, and it did, but since then it's like it was for nothing. I just want to free my mind again, motivate myself for doing things, get back my friends and enjoy life 😭😭

try CBT, also i know this sounds like a odd tip, but get plenty of sleep. ive tried getting more sleep and for some reason I dont know why sleep has actually helped me feel better...
@tommychappell63596 жыл бұрын
try CBT... let the thoughts float in and out... through one ear, out of the other ear... come up with reason why you shouldnt feel ocd.. if its a particular thought. feel it, but not directly charge at it.. just slowly think the thought.. often or not the ocd is actually a sign.. a sign that your not a bad person.. if you find it debilitating thats good.. it shows that your a good person who doesnt want to be like that... often ocd goes against your values... so say it was something aggresive like punching a family member (bad i know), but thats often the nature of ocd.. that likely means that family is important to you...so you dont want that to happen... that your a loyal helpful and thoughtful family member.. one who will always try and be loyal and considerate etc..
@tommychappell63596 жыл бұрын
are you sleeping at all??? I know this sounds simple... but I hadn't truly slept in months... and when I did start to build up a routine the thoughts kinda dissapated... even after a few days they started to dissipate... what sleep does is it repairs the body and mind, this would mean that the sleep would replace the bad thoughts or patterns so your mind gets rejuvenated, its almost like a system reboot... just remember the thoughts aren't you.. they don't reflect you... also we are told by scientists and medical doctors etc that we have 0 control over our thoughts.. 0.. so let them go.. let them just float away... through one ear and out the other...thats it just wash your hands clean of the ocd, since we have no control over our thoughts anyway... also exercise is probably the best thing you can do for the mind... I know how you feel... I really do... really... its hard... I was exactly the same before... three best things you can do... Sleep, Meditation and exercise... when you believe the ocd thats the ocd not you... thats how the ocd operates.. it wants you to believe the thoughts are true... if... is also how ocd operates... thats like a milestone of ocd... the if... what if this. what if that... thats the ocd speaking.. not you... If you need to speak to someone you can actually do it for free.. visit 7cups website... and there you can talk to a listener... they might have some input on your issue... it helped me tremendously... I know it doesn't feel like it right now... but you will get through this... also just to note we all have intrusive thoughts, like 95% of us have intrusive thoughts.. its a very human thing so you definately not alone.. its only when we attach meaning to the thought that it becomes a problem... most people who have intrusive thoughts dont attach emphasis or meaning to it so it doesnt become a problem... Just remember its the ocd talking... not you..

Being in the same situation... all i can suggest is to build up a proper routine, eat right, get enough sleep, Meditate, try journaling (what is the nature of these thoughts, are they sexual, physical, violent, contamination)... do this and try and put some distance between you and your thoughts... I know it doesn't feel like it... but you will get through this... but you have to keep fighting, and putting in the work... I know its hard... I get it... in fact just today I had worst bout of ocd... (believe me it wasn't nice, Im talking really disturbing stressful thoughts)... is that going to stop me?? no... Ive got this far.. so why would i just give up... the ocd has already happened, and now i intend to get a reward from it... its done as far as im concerned, and now I'm thinking objectively... But I know this they DO NOT reflect me as a person.... THEY DO NOT... I am in the driving seat and only my actions, my actions is what defines me, or at least way more than my thoughts do... my thoughts are like passengers in a car, and I'm in the driving seat... ride it out like a wave... the ocd is like a bully... using intimidation tactics in the hopes you will give in... you musn't give in... it wants you to give up... sometimes instead of running away from a bully you have to stand up to a bully, just like your thoughts... but do so in understanding way...

Samuel Davidson-Lowe Hey Samuel, it may be guilt or fear.....but the point is you are engaging in compulsions to avoid certain "feelings"....it could be fear, anxiety, stress, guilt.....this is what feeds the obsessive thoughts. I hate OCD VERY MUCH. It's prevents to study, learn or communicate with my friends. I don't know what to do,I can't find a solution for this. I can't sleep well, cause I have anxiety thoughts, they're distracting to sleep. I'm depressed, sad and anxious. I've been suffering for an year. I live with OCD, eat with OCD, sleep with OCD(by the way, it's very complicated to fall asleep, when you have OCD thoughts, and in the morning, when you have to go to school, you're already tired and exhausted). But still, there's a hope,that someday I'll be OK, everything will be OK.
@tommychappell63596 жыл бұрын
what ive learnt... 1. thoughts are just thoughts 2. ocd can dissapear with time.. (sometimes we perputate ocd because we beleive we have ocd, you are what you sew) 3. Your belief system sometimes perpetuates the OCD. It's what you beleive to the true. Sometimes we stop ourselves from healing because we don't want to.. 4. The unprecedented.. sometimes things we do help with the OCD without us knowing it. Just science has got there yet.. if that makes sense... Like exercise, positivity etc.. luck has much part or play in it too.. I'll call it survival of the luckiest... 5. Instead of focusing on what's going wrong, focus on what's going right, I know its hard, it rly is... But a negative self belief set will perpetuate the cycle. The self doubt is the problem itself, not the thing that you thought that caused it, e.g. like bad parents or childhood etc although that can be true sometimes... But self doubt itself often caused self doubt. The act of trying to solve a problem IS the problem... So instead try and use more helpful Behaviors, like trying to control what is possible within your control and leaving what can't behind.. I mean it's really up to you... 6. The way I see you have the greatest thing in existence your Brain, you Rly have to approach things from an opportunistic viewpoint not limited (even though I know that OCD and other things can make you feel limited)...

Are you serious? OCD doesn't disappear over time. OCD is mental impairment that you can see in a MRI Scan. There is no cure, but only CBT, and exposure therapy sessions, and they are not 100%. I guess if you don't suffer from OCD, you wouldn't understand.

Thinking and thoughts are very different, we can have a thought, then choose how we THINK about that thought... 8. we don't control thoughts but we do control thinking.. its how we think about those thoughts that counts. 9. what if..... is a benchmark of OCD all the way 10. yeah that's the OCD talking not you.. 11. remind yourself of who you want to be, values wise/identity wise... actions determine who you are, not thoughts.. 12. be empowered to choose how you respond... there is incredible freedom in how to use our thinking superpowers and how we use them. your in charge here.. you decide what to do with the thought... You decide.. 13. Think about the reasons why it might not happen.. 14. Ignore the thoughts, don't give much focus, attention or emphasis to the thought... 15. think outside of the box. think creatively.. 16. that's the ocd talking not you... 17. apparently my mind said this.. apparently.. don't have to pay much attention to it. 18. don't attach meaning to it.. Solutions: 1. CBT 2. Sleep 3. Journal 4. Exercise 5. Meditation 6. Attention Exercise (dis.) 7. Positive Affirmation Further Treatment Exposure Therapy, run towards it, not away... i know its not easy. Useful Terms: Cognitive Fusion - you are your thoughts Cognitive Diffusion - you are not your thoughts Cognitive Distancing - separate yourself from your thoughts, observer role. Triggers - Remember: Don't believe everything you think,

i really think i have it based on what ive read (wiki). i have a tiny tiny piece of music or just rhythm that plays over and over. so then i can either play the song again or a different one. This is NOT an earworm. Earworms last 15-30 seconds. This is rarely up to two seconds. Usually about 3 measures. I can't stop it. But I'd...not do ANYTHING...but a lot. I can't concentrate on anything. The teeth drum along with it too. It's called "body-focused repetitive motion behavior". I don't even have to try to stop it to feel anxiety, I get that anyway. This thing sucks up ALL of my mental energy. So my ocd makes me tired, nervous and anxious.

Is it OCD to have random thoughts of harming others? Like neighbours, kids etc then when you have them feel the need to act on it but you don’t want too 😣 I’m losing the anxiety that relates to it and I’m not sure if that’s good or bad

Yep!!! Suffered with this for years! Losing the anxiety is good, you are slowly starving the ocd and embracing uncertainty

also I know this sounds counterintuitive but often times the reason you can't relax is because your spending so much time on trying to relax... its a self perpetuating prophecy type thing.. Give yourself a break, stop beating yourself up..

If I'm suffering from intrusive thought for long doest it mean I'm diagnose by OCD.
@tommychappell63596 жыл бұрын
try and replace intrusive thought for less bad ones... also learn to separate yourself from your thoughts... you are not your thoughts...

I don't thin anyone has ocd 100%... which is basically what lables does (categorize people).. I think people who have ocd have different symptons of ocd... we have to see in the grey.. one person who has ocd may have different symptons to someone else who has ocd...

Samuel Davidson-Lowe Hey Samuel, it sounds like you are really overthinking the process....Remember this....You can not out think a thinking problem. You will never out think OCD. It all comes down to what you do that will determine your success.

Nirmal Dhl I think mine is finally going to stop. It's funny because this ocd has changed me so much. I used to feel like I had so much potential. Heck every time I said I would do something, somehow I could just get myself to focus and be the best at it. Then one day I saw this horrible video of Godzilla sticking his dic in boys' behinds(they were cartoons) and then from that day I just kept wondering" what if I'm gay" and testing.

I have been obsessing on one thing for the past 10 years (and it's the first thing I ever remember obsessing on). I thought coming clean about this to the person would stop the obsession so I did that this past weekend. It did not help, I am still obsessing on it. I don't know if it's because although I came clean I still do not know the exact answer? How can I get over this when I only obsess on one certain thing?
