@@turtleholic he was improving but I lost him yesterday😥😥😥🙄☹️ I put him out in the grass for a little sun light and he is gone 🥺😨 he wasn’t even outside long 😩 but his eyes did open back up 😍😍😍😍

how many times a day can i give my turtle a carrot bath his eyes have been shut for almost 2 weeks now, i’ve been giving him vitamin a eye drops as well

I wouldn’t do more than 1-2 baths per day. If it doesn’t improve after another week or two, a vet might be the only option.

Are they still basking? You should try increasing the water temperature. Also a carrot soak could help.

The sounds while breathing could mean they have a respiratory infection which they need antibiotics for

Dude I swear I have the same problem I'm so terrified. I've started taking him out in the sun hopefully he gets better. He looks so skinny I don't recognize him

Thank you so much ! We should found out our yellow bellow ate 3 feeder fish.. could this cause the problem? Only 1 eye is barley open

I don't think eating the fish would cause the problem. I would suggest warming up the water a little bit, and also trying the carrot soak in case its caused by a vitamin deficiency.

I watched it at 6:30 pm MST. I'm anew turtle owner. I "rescued" two turtles that came with 55 gallon tank. I know nothing about turtles so your videos are my source of lessons. I know that the tank they came in is not nearly big enough for two RES but it must do for now. My question is, one turtle (7") likes to nip the smaller one (6"). It's not constant or violent but it concerns me, especially since they have been tank mates for awhile. Do you have any advice on why this is happening?

Hi, it is most likely one of the following: 1) If the 7" RES is a male, and the 6" RES is a female, there is a good chance the male is trying to mate with the female. It's very common for males to nip at females they want to mate with. This can continue for a while, but sometimes the female is able to reject the male enough times that they stop trying. 2) It could be a territorial thing. The larger turtle wants to be the alpha of the tank, and wants first dibs on the basking platform, food, etc. If you notice that the biting becomes aggressive, you should try separating the turtles for a while if possible.

What to do if eed ear slider baby turtle one eye swell 😢 he is eating sweming apko basking. But why i feel he is not opening his eye properly and pop up eye water is clean but why? And yes he sleeps alot now adays

I would say take it to the vet just in case.

Yes the vet would be best, especially if your turtle's condition starts to worsen. You should also increase the temperature of the tank, as that can help them fight off illness. I also recommend doing a carrot soak.

Does the eye open back up on its own if it’s no longer swollen? Mines no longer swollen but the eye is still covered so he can’t see anything. I read I’m supposed to use a Q tip to open the eye back up? Not sure if I’m supposed to do that.

Is the eye still covered? I would wait a little on the q tip, because that can be dangerous if parts of the q tip hairs get stuck in the eye. If the swelling went away, the eye should open back up soon.

My turtles eye looks a little swollen and here and there he shuts it close. I jumped quick to KZbin and your video popped out. What should I do before it gets worse ?? It’s scares be because it looks normal he looks completely fine but then I get a close up and yes it does look a little swollen it worries me

Is there any redness? You should try the carrot soak, and then make sure you are feeding him a varied diet that has a lot of vitamin A

Do you have a piece of slate in the tank for basking. I just learned myself that the slate will help file their nails.

Hey, I'm really sorry to hear that. Does your turtle have a warm basking platform with access to UVA and UVB light? Also, you should probably do a big clean of the tank and switch out the water if it is dirty. I also suggest you do a carrot soak to help stimulate it's appetite.
