Hi Dr! New subscriber here 🙂 I stumbled across your channel & so happy I found you! Sadly, I never learned all this YEARRSS ago. In my early 60s and wish I lived in CA so I could see you! The dermatologist I did see said, "You need a total facelift." I left feeling hopeless...I thought I would at least be able to discuss fillers. 😥

You are so knowledgeable and recently started to follow you. I follow another Dermatologist as well and she said eye creams are just marketing stunts. They don’t do anything special and are waste of money. You said they are so important I am now super confused 😔😔
@DrStefaniKappel5 жыл бұрын
+Virmani Fam everyone is going to have a different opinion but it’s important to trust the experts who have the training and expertise to make such statements. It sounds like if she is a board certified dermatologist then she is legit. But I disagree and believe eye serums and creams are beneficial. Of course some are better than others. I’m also a mohs surgeon and look at skin under the microscope and can tell you that patients who use eye creams have healthier skin with less solar damage and more collagen and elastin in the under eye area than those patients who don’t.

I love these videos! Thank you for all the information -- the more info, the better! I had to do 2 different injections of filler in my tear troughs because the 1st filler injection kind of, I don't know, disappeared. My dermatologist doesn't use a cannula though. So I don't know if it's because of his technique or because of my anatomical structure why that filler didn't really show up. Again, I love your videos and you! 😘❤️

My problem is puffiness under the eyes. (Not bags. At least not yet). I'll be 57 in December and people have always said I don't look my age. I have no wrinkles. Just some very fine lines on my forehead that I've had since I was young. Things were awesome for me until this problem arose. I've had allergies all my life so maybe that's a contributing factor but I'm a non-smoker and a non-drinker who's stayed out of the sun so I have no sunspots or crepey skin either. Maybe the pandemic contributed to the issue because I've slept more. I don't even try over-the-counter remedies anymore. I tried a few which were worthless. My eyes are a little dry too. Dr. Kappel seems like she would be the perfect doctor for me but I'm in NYC. :(

Thank you for the information. I think it’s so hard to find a reputable injector. Most of the doctors in AR do a bit of this type of work on the side, but don’t have expert level experience. Then the non doctor injectors have tons of experience but they aren’t doctors! Uggh. Wish there was an easier way to weed out the unqualified other than trial and lots of error.

I had fillers put under my eye. One side looked great, but I am afraid the other side came out terrible. There was a bubble with liquid under my eye for weeks. It was so embarrassing. I think the doctor had a hard time angling the needle on the other side of my face. I have never had that done again. Have you ever heard of such a thing happening. I had it done at a great place in Chestnut Hill, MA.

You can always look for Dermatologist in your area by searching the AAD butttt it’s important to ALWAYS look up credentials. Board certification IN DERMATOLOGY and fellowship training is even better. The problem is that everyone is trying to enter this space as injectors. Self-proclaimed “experts” who may be physicians but not dermatologists. They are often for instance ER doctors, Obgyns or dentists, or chiropractors without any Dermatologic training. Don’t just trust your face to anyone my beauties.

@DrStefaniKappel5 жыл бұрын
Fat pads just start to show thru more as the skin thins out as we get older 🥺. But tightening the skin on top or adding volume in the surrounding area can make them appear less pronounced.

Due to radiofrequency my adipose tissue underneath the skin under my eyes was detroyed, so i have very thin skin now. I am only 34 and i have the first wrinkle there , it is near the tear trough, it is circular, so it makes my right eye look tired/sunken. It's quite frustrating, because i have it even when i am relaxed and have no expression on my face. That is the hard part: your face conveys the wrong message about you: you are happy and relaxed, but look stressed and tired. What is to do with this wrinkle? it is a "fine line" but visible in natural light and quite annoying
