here’s a fact: if you roll cancel off a cliff you can get horizontal and diagonal momentum. this is how the bowsers kingdom from island in the sky to the other island (not talking about the one right below the sky island

honestly a skill all odyssey players should try and get at least half decent at.

Also, I believe the reason vectoring works is because holding at a 45 degree angle means you're holding your stick vertically and horizontally at the same time, and due to a physics bug in the physics engine the game uses, it combines the vertical / horizontal velocities together in a way that results in crazy speed and acceleration. Just there if anyones curious, I personally hated when someone taught me something but never explained as to why. It encourages obedience more than curiosity, which I do think is a bad thing even in something as trivial as SMO Trickjumping lol
