When you replanted the first plant on the left did you plant it into the substrate or in between the other plants?

question for you, great fan here, everytime i trim my ammanlia gracilis they dont grow back and the tip turns black like rotting and no other shoots coming why is that, I dose fertilizers co2 and nutrient substrate also high light
@Ice13715 жыл бұрын
hi Dave looking good, when you were replanting the stems were you just pushing then in-between the stems rather than planting them into the substrate. Regards Prit
@AquariumGardensAquascaping5 жыл бұрын
Hi Priten yes just pushing them into the plant mass that was just trimmed.

@@AquariumGardensAquascaping whats the reasoning of doing it like that
@trhuyanh19965 жыл бұрын
@@thelonghousetv I am new to this. but to what I have read, the top will develop and it will intertwined with the bottom and will develop root long enough to go into the soil.

Do you push the tops of the rotala in the substrate? Cause it seems your not pushing them that far? Just loosely in between the remaining stems?

I ran out of co2 for a few days. All my plants are healthy however only my Christmas moss has very slight bba what looks like it. How should I go about removing this?
@AquariumGardensAquascaping5 жыл бұрын
fluctuating CO2 can trigger algae. Turn lights off if CO2 runs out until you can get a refill. Increasing frequency and/or volume of water changes will help reduce most algae
@HotshotH5 жыл бұрын
If fluctuating CO2 causes algae which I believe it does, surely large water changes disrupt that even further. Drop checker goes green to blue after water changes. So doing even more water changes will cause more fluctuation surely?

Do some of the stem plants you trimmed send out two stems from the trim point?
@AquariumGardensAquascaping5 жыл бұрын
Yes each stem that is cut will then send out new shoots and become more bushy.
@MarkGarrettBusinessCoach5 жыл бұрын
@@AquariumGardensAquascaping ok great thanks... so would you then recommend cutting it shorter so the two stems are longer off the original plant? I've seen both methods and it looks like you are going for shape her vs. propagation.

Wait a second.... When you "replant" the tops you really don't replant them? You just shive them in the mass? So technically they are free floating? Or are you actually planting them. When you did the plant tops on the back left it looked as if you literay just sat them in the mass of the plant, not in the soil?
