Unfortunately it's not. You still need to shift it in time. If you wont then after exporting you gona have some time of silence before actual music starts.
@accidental_relevance4 жыл бұрын
@@peterSobieraj which seems odd to me. With other editing type programs I've used when you delete something what left becomes the beginning. But maybe there is a practical usage of this feature.
@peterSobieraj4 жыл бұрын
@@accidental_relevance At first it seem odd to me as well. But I think it does make sense once you start workin with many tracks (like layers in photoshop and gimp). Let's say that you have audo where you are reading / telling a storry. And then there are few tracks where you add some efects, like thunderbolt sound, opening door sound, foot steps sound, etc. And let's say that once you done that you listen to it, you find out that in file with tunderbolt there were few thunderbolts instead of one. So you cut out all tunderbolts except for one. If you do that you don't want all other sounde effect to move in time. You want them to stay where they are becasue they are sync with the story. So I understand thet there is use for that, but still it's a annoying to do shift every time when you work with only 1 track. Also I found a way to do that with few keyboard presses: Ctrl+T, Ctrl+X, Home, Ctrl+V.

Is it possible to somehow pull on the sides of the trimmed clip and that way get the parts of the complete track back? Like you got the middle acapella bit at 2:01 and you for example just decide that you want the middle and third version both. I am asking because I don't want to use undo and be more flexible.
@MikeRussell8 ай бұрын
Yes, in Audacity, you can use the Time Shift tool to move trimmed clips around and adjust the selection without using the undo function, allowing for more flexibility in editing!
@MarcMarioMaster8 ай бұрын
@@MikeRussellI'm sorry but perhaps there was a misunderstanding. I wasn't referring on how to move clips around. 1. I have the complete track and I select a section 2. I delete it 3. Can I now somehow take the remainder and extend the end part by pulling on the right side to extend it further towards the previous clip? Or would it be right away possible to take the original clip and push on one side to steadily remove from said clip without the traditional trimming? I haven't edited in a while and all I used years back was an old magix movie maker program where you had timelines and could just cut anywhere, move clips like puzzle pieces and add and take from them as I described without having to switch between several tools all the time.
