I've been sporting a beard for 11 years now and work in TV/Film (in front of camera) and was thinking of cutting it short to change things up a bit. After watching your videos I am giving it a second thought now. I had no idea you are in Gastown as I live in New West which now inspires me to book a beard trim by a professional and see what happens. By far you are the most up front and informative barber I've seen on KZbin. Thank you and keep at it !!

Brio is an exceptional home trimmer. The Beardscape is a great hair trimmer that's also good for manscaping. Brio is one of the quietest trimmers on the market, and it's not overly expensive for the quality. However, you are correct; it is not a professional trimmer, as many people who recommend this product on KZbin claim. I also have professional Wahl Magic Clip and Andis. Both feature more accurate blades and are far more robust for salon usage on a daily basis. I occasionally use Brio with the guards to trim my own beard, but I always freehand it to remove the flyaways with Wahl Magic Clip. Thanks for posting superb content.

I love watching these videos. It’s taken me years to grow a beard fully (didn’t start growing until I was about 25, I’m now 36) but I’m now thinking about styling it, so I cut it short to start from scratch properly (my goatee was longer than my beard and I wanted the hair all the same length). Thank you for these videos. They’re teaching me a lot about beard care and grooming.

Yes, I really enjoyed the video your step-by-step and now you can get a 4 to 5 guard. When you order the brio you have to ask about that and you can get that that’s gonna be included now and I did that when I bought mine and I love it.one of the best Trimers on the market!

Guys if you have stubble or short beard, I'd go for trimmer / detailer. Its head is narrower thus getting closer to skin and getting angles you want is easier. Full grown hair clipper is more difficult to operate. On the other hand, If you cut your own hair and got "spare" hair clipper, you don't need any other tools. Maybe a razor to clean out the neck and cheeks. 100USD/EUR for a middle ground (Brio) is a bit expensive and not needed.

This is what I like is when some one uses the product, to show it work or if it wont work. With your video's I can see if its something I can use. I know your unsponsored by this company but your video got them a Consumer. I pretty much wanted a all in one type of trimmer and I wanted the 0 gap as well and this has what I'm looking for with out having so many tools. I like the idea of having one tool that dose it all. One motor, with attachment's for what you need. You know like a tractor, all you need is 1 tractor with all the different attachment's you can think of, instead of a different tractor for different tasks .

I've been using the Brio Beardscape for a few years now and I love it. By far the best home trimmer I've ever owned. The battery life alone makes it worth it. I would like to do let's say 1-2mm on my head and 3-4mm beard and I would like to get as close to zero gap as possible for good lines. I was actually considering the Babyliss Gold FX trimmer that you use, with some suitable guards to get the right lenghts even if it is quite expensive. Do you think I can use it for both beard and head? I know people always suggest not to use the trimmer on the head, but I always keep my hair short. Also... would the blade that comes with it be ok, or do I really need to upgrade to a Gold FX blade?? Is there any other good trimmer you would suggest instead?

My philosophy is this. If you dont have the money, then you dont have the money. But if you do have the money, but say its expensive, then you should think about it. Are you going to use it often? If yes, then will it last a long time? If yes to both, then just shell out the extra money. Its better to get quality for a little more that will last, rather than save a few bucks for something that will need replacing or an upgrade later.

Phillips One Blade. Go for the “pro” version that has adjustable lengths. You can outline, trim and close shave everything with one tool. If you just want stubble, this one is the way to go
@georgeyboy81862 жыл бұрын
@@marvinvanhattem depends what you want in a shaver tbh, the brio with the zero blade and guards is £100 and is much better at everything except a clean shave because the Phillips one blade has the foil heads. The one blade pro is £80 and I spent £120 on blades in one year.. it’s kinda gimmicky tbh as it’s an “all in one” device. More like a jack of all trades master of none device, in my experience. @mattyconradgrooming3 жыл бұрын
That’s the real challenge. One tool doesn’t do it all perfectly. A good clipper will remove bulk and make a smoother looking exterior but it won’t outline well… a good outliner (trimmer) will create clean outlines and shave the hair down tight to the skin but it’s not great for reducing bulk…. The beardscape did both fairly well but not as well as a good clipper and trimmer combo.

The trick is letting the front length be your guide. Tilt your head back and go from the front length towards the Adam’s Apple. Just take a bit off the bottom. Your focus is trying to smooth out the base.. not shorten it.

The result looks fine, but the tool looks really cheap and plasticy, with unnecessary digital display. Considering you can get one of those Philips multi-purpose trimmers that are very nice to handle and metallic body, no extra stuff, just a solid body and cutters/guards for 60-70€, this one has some tough competition. Given that the Philips has self-sharpening blades with no oiling or sharpening maintenance and cuts well. If you want to get very cute, Philips tools come with all kinds of body hair heads too from nose hair to arm pits and whatnot. However the most significant thing is your thick beard and professional hands, they make the biggest difference.
