She is beautiful and is doing great fir her first time! I have used your tips on my girls ears, still working on technique, but they don’t look horrible. She does pretty good for me because I think it feels better for her, but still nervous she will move and I will cut her. As always, love your videos!!!

Keeping the ear fuzzies on mine as long as I can. She'll have adult hair soon enough. The feet can be cut and cleaned as often as I can. I don't show mine. But I see where you're coming from.

Loved the video!!! I thought my puppy was the only one trying to bite on the hair comb while trying to groom him... Any special advice for people who do not own a grooming table?

I would use a picnic table or something where you can get leverage...or save up for a table. It really is a game changer (and saves your back).

Thanks so much for the great video. Frenzy is such a happy girl. And you are such a great advocate for the breed and I appreciate all the information provided on your channel. My pup is only 14 weeks old but I want to be prepared. What type of comb are you using? I found several greyhound combs on the link provided under a different grooming video, but don't know which is best for a Bernese. Also I need to train my pup for taking baths. My Berner has a shy temperament. Started her fear period when I picked her up from the breeder. She was given a bath by the breeder on the day I brought her home, but when I tried about 2 weeks ago we were not successful. I tried both bathrooms (tub & walk-in shower) but she was afraid of the running water even with treats and me being in the tub/shower with her. Any suggestions? She is getting much better and starting to come out of her shell. Much more curious about the world and playful, but still hesitates in certain situations and we are enroll in puppy classes to help get her more comfortable. Anyway, thanks again for your help. :-)

I'm glad you like the videos! Bath tubs are scary for dogs for many reasons. You might consider a raised tub for outside bathing or working with a local groomer who can help. Like anything you will need to have confidence and show leadership to help her through scary situations. Sometimes they just need to be shown that it isn't as scary as they think! I would also see if your breeder can help you learn how to wash her at her place to help you and her get another bath under her belt in a familiar place with someone who is familiar with bathing puppies. You are right to start her early and do it often. I would take her many places to see the world, but don't push her more than she can handle. Happy to answer any questions!

@@SitStaywithStacySlade Thank you for your advice. This is the first dog I've had that is shy and I have a real fear that I will make a mess of things. But I will reach out to my breeder for help with bathing my pup. I will also continue to take my pup out so that she can see the world. The first few weeks were tough since she did not want to venture too far from our house. Luckily she is very food motivated so we are making progress on that front and with our puppy classes. I'll also continue to watch your videos which have been alot of help too! And if you can share the type of greyhound comb that you use for your dogs that would be great!

@@holden9518 On my adult dogs I use an undercoat rake and a pin brush too.

@@SitStaywithStacySlade Thank you again. I have a Puppy grooming kit with pin brush and nail clippers. My pup is getting better at letting me groom her so I will purchase the rake and comb to get her use to these new tools.

Hi Stacy! Do you have any tips on grooming my Berner's sanitary area?
@SitStaywithStacySlade2 жыл бұрын
I never trim more than feet and ears. If you have a long spay/neutered coat you can use thinners to thin out the long hair, but generally I don't touch more than feet and ears. Monthly baths with a complete dry with a blower is all I do.
