How to Trim Your Cow's Horn Using a Gigli Wire

Trimming a cow's horn is super easy, all you need is a pair of gloves (cut resistant if you have them) and a cheap gigli wire. Trim only the tip to prevent bleeding or pain - up to 1 inch or so and not much more than that.

We have a goat that has a scur that grows into his head. We tried to cut it off ourselves, but my husband and I just were not strong enough to hold him and our milk stand wasn’t big enough to contain him. We took him to the vet and my husband and the vet got it cut off. I saw those saws on Amazon and thought about buying them, but wasn’t sure if they would work. I’m happy to see that they do work and will go ahead and buy some for the next time. Thank you for the video, it was just what I needed.

That’s what I used to use on my cows I thought they did away with those wires and you can re use them a few times

You're right, it looks fine to re-use. We got 4 in the pack so we have plenty for future use lol! I think we have to trim her horn about once a year it seems.
