How do they taste? Red potatoes usually have a strong earthy flavor. You could grow Yellow potatoes like this? My favorite, 🥔 a little like butter.
@zionsgateranchКүн бұрын
So buttery and good, not earthy in our opinion. You could grow any potato like this, we have German Butterballs too, just haven't harvest any yet. They are so buttery too!!

What do you mean, prune your suckers?
@zionsgateranch2 күн бұрын
Suckers are small shoots that you can see where the leaf stem meets the main stem - they shoot out and need to be pruned off for a healthier tomato plant. That will help you have larger tomatoes and higher yields since that energy won't be going to the extra shoots.

How many goats do you recommend starting off with? Thanks... also how long would you say it took you to learn the process when starting
@zionsgateranch25 күн бұрын
I would start with 2-3 and get used to raising them. We started with 2 and that worked well for us. :-) I think it's an ongoing learning process honestly - there are multiple things to learn and always something new with raising animals. The basics took us a short time, maybe a few months to really learn, but overall we still have more to learn always and all these farm animals keep us on our toes, lol.
@drewmoore36525 күн бұрын

Yeah, I think when you raise them from birth, feed and care for them daily, and call them by name it becomes harder. They are a part of your life. It’s a different emotional attachment for sure.

We have a goat that has a scur that grows into his head. We tried to cut it off ourselves, but my husband and I just were not strong enough to hold him and our milk stand wasn’t big enough to contain him. We took him to the vet and my husband and the vet got it cut off. I saw those saws on Amazon and thought about buying them, but wasn’t sure if they would work. I’m happy to see that they do work and will go ahead and buy some for the next time. Thank you for the video, it was just what I needed.

A problem we've ran into is our piglets wouldn't use the heat and would still Pig pile, by the sow, regardless of the heat source.
@zionsgateranch2 ай бұрын
Yes, they can sometimes prefer the sow, just make sure to train them by putting them under the heat when they are sleepy. If one decides to stay, the others will tend to as well. And make sure the lamp is low enough where they feel a good heat, otherwise they won't find it beneficial enough.
