That is Jay Fair's system. Jay was a helluva good eagle lake guide. He pioneered that line combination system for trolling tight to the tules on the Gallatin side of Eagle Lake.

I’m getting ready to try action discs here in Lake Michigan for lakers and salmon. You recommend fluoro when action disc seems to discourage it. Something to worry about? Not a problem with lighter test? Just retie often?

I’ve never had an issue

What's a philosophy behind the fly line?
@catchamericaАй бұрын
So Jay Fair developed this approach for Eagle Lake…. It allows you to get well behind the boat while still fishing shallow with 1/2 or 1 full color of leadcore

I’ve been playing with it and getting quite a few fish…..

@williamrogers4556 the fly line also doesn't straighten out like mono, it kind of snakes behind the boat mirroring the travel of the boat. Jay Fair used that to be able to troll extremely tight to the tules.
