Just spent 10 minutes replacing a faulty solenoid. This is my 2nd time replacing it. The faucet was shutting off slower and slower over the past 2 weeks. This only happened when using the touch function. Manual use of the faucet worked fine. I can't say enough good things about Delta's Customer Service. We've purchased 2 touch faucets over the years and any time I've had an issue they ask me a few simple questions and send me whatever repair parts I need at NC. They even went as far as to send us an entire replacement faucet for one of the products we were having a problem with. Again, in my case, top notch customer service.

Good video. It helped me diagnose that the solenoid on my faucet had malfunctioned and needed replacement. Also a good workaround to have the faucet function while waiting for the replacement part.

Water was barely coming out of my touch faucet. Changed Batteries and nothing. This video is a blessing!!! Thanks guys! found out to be faulty solenoid. We were actually getting tired of the touch on and off as we would always accidentally hit it with the faucet facing the counter and soaking the counter top. Wife asked me many times to replace and just get a standard faucet. Removed the Solenoid and battery pack and now we have a normal running faucet. Great video!

@@deltafaucet I feel terrible as I was not trying to degrade or give any negative of the faucet at all. It is a fantastic faucet! operated as it should. we just got tired of having to change batteries every 4 months which was a pain as removing everything under the sinks and replacing the batteries. Had I known you had a plug for the 110v just just plugs right next to the disposal plug, problem solved. Faucet is great I just deleted the touch feature which is best for us. Great faucet!

Just a little tip I discovered. If you're doing the drip remedy where you flush it from the top, use super hot water. I tried it again and again without succes, then I let the water get good and hot and it fixed it.

My water pressure is low. I flushed the water line as instructed, and pressure was normal during the flushing process, but when i reconnected the unit it was still low. I'm guessing the unit between the water line and the faucet/sprayer line is clogged?

I installed a 9volt unit from delta faucet. And that way, I eliminated the batteries and no more problem. If you have a plug under your sink one part of the plug has power in it only for the garbage disposal. The other part of that plug has power all the time. That's where you plug in the 9 V charger.
@tsega6010 ай бұрын
Can I use a single 9v battery to power the solenoid instead of 6 AA batteries?
@dubmob1517 ай бұрын
9V batteries won't have enough output or capacity to last very long. I use a battery pack made from a rechargeable batteries, like 18650 lithium ion cells, or a sealed lead acid battery. The system is able to tolerate the higher 12V. Lasts a long time with the higher capacity. It's been working fine for years on mine.

The fix I need is for when it turns itself on with no one else around. This has happened three times, recently, after well over a year of no problems. I already checked once that the battery pack is laying flat with no obstructions.

After replacing with new batteries, my faucet indicator lights are red immediately and the touch function doesn't work. I went under the sink as shown in the video at 18:50 and unplugged from the solenoid. It flickered red as I turn the plug that goes in the solenoid and it also flickered red when I removed it. Plugging it back in and the issue persists. Is my solenoid bad?
@deltafaucet2 ай бұрын
Hi Steve, Please accept our apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help! I first recommend removing the batteries, blowing out any dust and doublechecking they are in the correct orientation. To determine if the solenoid is the issue, I recommend the steps at 3:30 to take everything above the sink out the equation. If it does not sense a touch on the clip, there would either be an issue with the batteries, or the solenoid may need to be replaced.
@slappy19652 ай бұрын
@@deltafaucet I just did the steps at 3:30 and nothing happens with my solenoid. I also removed the batteries, replaced with a fresh 6 new C batteries. Blew out the battery pack, which looks brand new. Pretty sure it is a faulty solenoid. I contacted Delta, sent photos and videos. They said I need to buy a new solenoid, which isn't covered under the lifetime product warranty and was quite an expensive part. I also purchased it knowing it had a full lifetime warranty. Not to happy about that at all, since the faucet was very expensive to begin with.

How often does a solenoid go bad? I have very intermittent, but getting worse failure to touch. When I fiddle with things, it fixes itself. The battery replacement indicator is not flashing so I've assumed it isn't battery related.

I have three touch-faucets in my house and had a similar issue with one of them. It turns out that one of the wires would keep bumping something under the sink that was metal. Make sure that every one of those wires is not touching anything - don't let them touch each other or anything that may possibly have any metal in it. I used tape and zip ties to pull (and hold) the wires out away from the other parts of the solenoid, battery, sink shank, etc. I considered wrapping the wires with something to insulate them, but just pulling them out of the way of everything else worked fine.

I have a delta touch faucet that’s about 2 years old. So I have issue with the battery holder itself. The lid keeps popping off constantly which essentially makes the faucet useless as it won’t work. I’d come downstairs some mornings and had no water only to find the lid popped off. And today it’s to the point it won’t stay on now for more than 30 seconds I wouldn’t have purchased this if I knew there was such a poor battery holder design.

We've had two of these faucets over several years & never had that issue. I'll bet they'll replace it. Or is there a way that you can support the battery holder so that it doesn't creat a strain on the lid? Like a velcro backing to the wall?

I had the same problem.... I just taped the lid on. I used black electrical tape, but duct tape would work as well. I've had it stay put ever since.

When we bought the Delta touchless faucet during a total kitchen remodel in 2012, we figured this would be convenient and cool. We're now on our third solenoid (which has now died as it won't shut off when running the hot side). They seem to die routinely, for one reason or another. The warranty only lasts 5 years, so now we're going to have to purchase another one (third purchase). If you are looking for reliable touchless faucets, stay away from Delta. I'm not a plumber, so we paid a professional to install it originally. Since then, I'm the one under the sink, lying on by back un-connecting and re-connecting the solenoid. It is not an easy, nor simple task. Their support staff barely speaks English, doesn't comprehend the issues, and acts as if you're stupid when explaining the problem. Their solution is always, "replace the solenoid." It seems to me that Delta should come up with a better, more reliable design. WTF? We're going to fix it for the last time and start looking for a better faucet company.
