How to troubleshoot the UV Clarifier in an Aquascape UltraKlean Filter

Hello this is a helpful video - I've only had my unit 3 months. I noticed my water is green and is not clearing up. I checked the trip switch and my UV light did not light up so I purchased a brand new UV light thinking that was the issue. I just installed the new UV light and checked it using the trip switch you show on your video, the new light is not lighting either. I've only had my system 3 months, could the control panel not be working already? all the other lights on the control panel work, its just not turning on my UV lights?

I replaced my UV bulb back in March, how do you know when its time to replace it? Will it no longer light up when manually hitting the trip switch?

Helpful video, i have problem with green water and my Ultrakleen 3500 UV bulb even after removal and test the light flicker and was almost invisible, i ordered new bulb, and the problem is same. With this video i can see and now i know the UV emits a steady strong light, so im sure my control panel with ballast is bad.

After storing my UltraKlean over the winter with the top clamps dow I cannot get my top off😢 Any suggestions

There are a few tabs you can use as leverage - one on the top lid and one on the bottom canister. You can see them pictured on the top left page of 7 in the owner's manual.

My aquascape filter 24hr light would not light but all other LEDs seemed to be working, now, NO LEDs are working. I have not tested the bulb yet. Do you think I need to replace the whole board module?

You would need to purchase a replacement Electronic Control Board & Ballast Kit.

My unit is beeping and flashing on and off. When I manually engage the switch with a brand new bulb it’s not lighting up. Can the panel itself be bad?

Do u have a video about a Bitron 55c uv clarifier? We bought a new bulb and quarts sleeve. Replaced them. Plugged in and it tripped all the GFCIs took it all out and the Transformer part where you plug the bulb etc was full of water. This has never happened. Any help is appreciated. Thanks lots.

@@WebbsWaterGardens thanks. I think we figured it out though. She put the O ring In the wrong place. I hope. The bulb burned out but put the sleeve on so we could run the waterfall and filter and no leaks so I’m hoping that’s the problem. Just hope it didn’t ruin the transformer. 🤞🤞🤞

My UV Bulb won't light up when i manually engage trip switch, so i'm thinking the bulb is out. Problem is, i've only been using it for about a month. Is it common (or possible) for bulbs to go out that soon?? Any other ideas on how to get bulb to come on, or do i just need to buy a new one already??

If all lights are working on top the board, most likely the bulb has failed.

I bought a new bulb and plugged and plugged it in. The UV light on top blinked sporadically for about an hour and then stopped. I tried the manual test and the bulb did not light up. HELP! and for some reason the 24hr option will not light up when I cycle through....

Sounds like an issue with the electronic control board itself, which can be replaced. Any water inside the quartz sleeve?

my 24 hour option doesnt light up either...i pulled unit out today and tried to light it up using the rocker switch, and despite the lights on the outside of the unit saying its on, the bulb doesn't light up. The old bulb that was replaced also doesn't light up. The newer bulb is maybe a month old and the unit is set to 12 hours. I assume the unit is bad?

I cant get mine to backwash. I only get a trickle

First inspect the pump for any obstructions, as the pump is what is driving the filter.

My 24 hr light is on , just kicked the filter back on after winter and put in a brand new bulb . husband reassembled but i just noticed this morning that the "UV clarifier" light isn't on just a light next to "24 hr" Can i pull the control panel out while its running?
