Talk about a monolithic setup. I like how the pants are allowed to drape from the weight distribution offered by your shoulders instead of using an inner or outer belt.

Lol goalie equipment sure have change in 50 yrs. We used real leather stuffed coconut stuffed pads regular shoulder pads an umpire chest protector cup elbow pads. When the pads got wet add about 75lbs to an 8 yr olds legs 😅

Hey brother, if you could would you do a video on how to lace the pants like that and do that mod with the lacing a the hoops? I think it would be helpful for a lot of newer guys getting into playing. Thank you and awesome set up by the way.

I never tucked my chest protector inside the hockey pants ! I had a hard enough time moving around as it was !

What’s the benefit of removing that belly flap from the pants? Never removed mine but I’ve seen pros remove theirs and sometimes I see pants for sale with people saying they can’t find the belly flap for it when they removed it. I also tuck and notice the flap makes it not hard but annoying to tie into that little loop but not enough for me to remove it

Creatively. Literally just a few knots on the outside of the eyelets and left slack on the inside.

Internal belts have not been NHL legal for over a decade. Since I wear all NHL spec gear, I do not wear pants with an Internal belt.

Because NHL spec prohibits goaltenders from creating an unfair advantage. Internal belts allow the pants to stay up higher and sit wider than the natural body shape, so they were deemed illegal a long time ago.
