Perfect timing. I've been fighting with my edelbrock carb for a while now.
@MuscleCarSolutions3 сағат бұрын
@@MiamiZombie2012 they’re extremely easy to work on. I’ve got tons of videos with lots of detail on understanding how they work and how to tune. Let me know if you have any questions. Always happy to help if I can.
@MiamiZombie20123 сағат бұрын
@MuscleCarSolutions I've watched a lot of your videos actually. Problem I'm having is the vacuum won't adjust. I've checked the timing, distributor position, and changed the pcv. Then I played with the fuel pressure and step down springs. The only way I can get the vacuum to react to the mix screws is if I turn the idle up to about 1300. I've set the timing higher and seen the vacuum go up. But as soon as I set the idle speed back down, I'm back to square one. For reference, it's a sbc 350 with a comp xtreme energy cam. I also checked my valves since the vacuum gauge is pointing at late valve timing? I'm confused and think I'm over thinking the situation

@@MiamiZombie2012 not completely following so I’ll ask a few questions. What is your initial timing set to? What intake are you using?
@MiamiZombie20122 сағат бұрын
@MuscleCarSolutions My initial timing is set to 22 adv. When I rev it up to 2500 to 3K it's 36. Distributor advance is disconnected. It's an aluminum dual plane intake from the ebay.

I have been tuning my 500cfm carburetor edelbrock on stock ford f100 with 302 but it's already 5 degrees below freezing here in Canada so i might just swap out to my new distributor and leave it for the winter cause it's going to get a lot colder and I don't want it making more power cause roads are getting more icy by the day great video

Excellent video! How do you handle total timing as you advance your initial timing?
@MuscleCarSolutions3 сағат бұрын
@@NH1969GOAT you can limit the mechanical advance in the distributor if you find the total timing isn’t liked by the engine. One of these days I’ll do a video on how to limit total advance in the distributor. I’d guess there’s probably a good video or article on that somewhere. It’s a great question!
