This stitch--it's very easy, it's also quicker than standard Tunisian, it doesn't curl because the yarn stays relaxed, and the best thing, as if the first three good things aren't enough, is that the back of the crocheted piece looks great, unlike the ribby texture you get with standard Tunisian. This is just so good that it's one of my go-to stitches already.

Agree with roz. It's the same as #6 HDC. in fact, first he says he's going to show how to double crochet, then he says he's going to show how to half double crochet, and does. The good news is that this one is better than the last.

Roz and others : it's not the same, look well a the videos ! Hdc = yarn over, insert, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (the one you inserted in and the previous) at one time. DC = yarn over, insert, yarn over, pull through 1, yarn over again and then pull through 2. Same process than with regular crochet (not tunisian) hdc and dc stitches (american stitch names).

Hi Mikey I started scarf with three colours and Tunisian double stitch. I'm changing colour after every row, both forward and back, without cutting. Texture is soft and beautiful but sides are somehow wobbly, not neat and direct. Do you have some cool tip how to change colours in every pass and keep in straight line? Thank you!

Is there a max on the amount of stitches you can fit on your hook? I've got a couple hooks that have cords on the end and stoppers at the end. I'm just wondering roughly how many stitches I could comfortably fit on it, if you've got any idea.. Thanks for the videos Mikey!!

Sadly I can not reply to a certain comment on my phone, but this is not the same as a hdc. Here you wrap the yarn over, pull it through one, wrap it over again and pull it through two. With a hdc you wrap the yarn over and pull it through two instantly. So you have one yarn over less. That goes to roz ffs ;-)

When you finish off a block of half double or double stitches, do you still single crochet to fill in gaps?

Is the TC and regular crochet patterns the same, if not is there an example for the TC? I have searched every where looking for examples so that I may learn to do a TC pattern
