Sad that i can't show my mehanic with his e36 318i m43b18 with 320kw from a 1.8.L. dude had 8x evo injectors on that thing. Fuel e85. Was an awesome project. Still wheel spins in 4th gear with 225/40 tires 😅 did get a lot of wins in rally but when the engine died it's now a m50b25 made to a 3.0L with a turbo from volvo if im not wrong.

I've done something way better for my home build turbo M50. Kept the stock fuel pressure regulator and stock fuel rail, but i fabricated a secondary fuel rail with 3 440 injectors, controlling them through ecumaster det3. That piggy back has a map sensor and injectors start spraying fuel only after atmospheric pressure. Installed the secondary fuel rail right before the throttle body. Its way more safe and easy to tune. I have 12,5 - 13 AFR during wot at 1,5 bar with a Garrett t25.

Hey this is annoying but im desperately looking for answers at this point and ive seen you have experience with turboing these cars. I've been fighting a misfire in my e36 for almost a year now and at a loss. I've narrowed it down to the fact the car seems to only register the first fuel bank in the ecu as it was previously turboed, I've tried multiple different tuned ecu's, and everything down to the plugs, multiple crank sensors and all that has been had multiple thrown at it. The whole engine harness was swapped as it didnt have front o2's. The timing was off a tooth and just finished getting done.. and it didnt change the problem, let alone change how the car ran at all. Most of that is all back to stock and it still wont show a second bank which causes an odd misfire under max load after a certain duration, if car is turned off the car will reset and the car could drive without issue until it goes under max load again and after a certain duration but the duration seems to get shorter as the car repeats this and gets hot I think i dont know (but for example trying to push the car through an event it seems to come back quicker).

Blow off valves aren’t needed. They just protect the turbo over a long period of time. We prefer the sound of compressor surge haha

Great question! In this case id say 100% the turbo 4cyl is heaps better than the 6cyl swap. But we have the ability to weld / fab and of course we had access to the dyno. This setup cost about $800-$1000 to build. The power & noises it makes are well worth it
