How to Turn a Basic Bowl (woodlogger.com)

Few safety issues with your video. 1) please please always use a dust mask! 2) when hollowing your bowl, use a bowl gouge, NOT a spindle gouge or scraper. Using a spindle gouge is a good way to send your tool into yourself or across the room. The shaft is not strong enough to take the pressure. The steel could catch and break right out of the handle. One good catch and it could all be over for you. Please always use caution and really do your research before you pick up a tool and potentially hurt yourself, or someone else. Otherwise very nice bowl, and happy turning!

Your handling of the gouge was scary in that you did the opposite of what you should have been doing. That you didn't get a catch is surprising. The handle should have been down, so you could ride the bevel and ease into the cutting edge. Watch a few videos and see how others do it. And, yes, others are right - you are using VERY dangerous tools BECAUSE they are for spindle turning, rather than bowl turning, and could snap off and become projectiles. Then there is the mask....

Please do yourself a favor and buy yourself a bowl gouge and do some research about turning before you hurt yourself.
