Those comparisons are horrible. Adam and Eve (if they existed, which they didn't) believed god existed, they just went against his commands. Same for the other people in the bible who defied god. An atheist is completely different, as we don't believe god exists. Whether we would worship him if he proved his existence to us (and actually existed) is a completely different question.

Jesus existed and ge did great things but that doesn't make him son of God, he just claimed so to make people believe him and do good things but unfortunately people do more evil than good in his name. Jesus died in vain because people do more evil things than good in his name. I pity jesus, poor man dedicated his whole life so that people do good and now instead of doing good, there are religious wars harassment, hate and killings in his name.

I read this crazy book one time that said that somewhere out in the universe there are holes of infinite density that connect two different and infinitely distanced points in space together. The book called them "black holes". Crazy right? We dont know if they even exist in the way we think they do but this book seemed pretty darn certain. This wild book also talked about something called "dark matter"... no one can see it, no one can measure it, no one can study it, but the people in this quirky little book were convinced it was what made up most of the universe. Crazy! And thats not even the craziest thing Ive read! I read that there was this weird event, billions and billions and billions of years ago called "the big bang". No one seems to know what the universe was like before this but apparently it was this massive explosion caused by.... something.... and that explosion somehow created EVERYTHING. Planets, stars, black holes, moons, comets, meteors, elements, gasses.. just... everything! This book couldnt prove this big bang thing, its just a theory, but the craziest thing? Every atheist says that this event is the actual, factual beginning of universe! They all believe that this is how we all started even though there is ZERO evidence to support it. Books really do be crazy sometimes.

@@itsaboutthattime4425 People don't slaughter others for not believing in Christ. It doesn't happen. As a matter of fact, the opposite happens. Christians are killed all the time in countries like Nigeria and other countries under Islamic law. As a matter of fact, a college student in Nigeria was recently stoned to death by Muslims in Nigeria for openly thanking Jesus for her success in school. She was taken from her dorm room, beaten, stoned to death and then her dead body was set on fire. All for daring to mention His name. That's not saying that wars have never been fought in the name of Christianity. The crusades were a pretty big deal. Some said it was necessary to free Jerusalem from Islamic invaders and I tend to agree. But a lot of the people who fought in the name of Jesus in the crusades were simply violent bullies who were brutal in their attacks and even raped their female victims. This is not in line with any teachings of the gospels and was simply the result of the human tendency to be violent. Basically, even Jesus would not have approved of their methods. Even if it was all just a fairy tale, they would have been acting in direct opposition to the teachings of that fairy tail and modern Christians recognize this. Wars are always fought in the name of righteousness, whether religion is involved or not. And sometimes righteousness is just a cover for true intentions. Like the invasion of Iraq. Countless innocent lives are being lost in the middle east every single day, regardless of religion, all under the guise of righteousness. As a little side note, no wars have been fought in the name of science, but all wars have been fought with knowledge gained from science. Whether it be simple metallurgy or the atomic bomb yet no one calls science the most devastating weapon ever witnessed, because that would be foolish. Science isn't a weapon, but it can be used as one, just like religion. Wars are horrible, but sometimes they are neccessary. Every single war God commanded to happen in the bible was righteous. They were started to prevent bad people from doing bad things to good people. Much the same way nations came together to stop the Nazis. Of course, the Nazis thought their war was righteous but good people disagreed. War is an unfortunate necessity in a world filled with sin. I know it's pretty much one of the atheists go-to arguments against religion. It sure is an argument that I used in my years as an atheist. But I'm not the type of Christian that shys away from the hard questions. I do my research because my years as an atheist conditioned me to research all new information. I believe that science and religion go hand in hand. My point is, if there are any questions you have or any topics you'd like to discuss, I'm more than open to them. I promise I wont try to convert you lol

The existence of an order in the universe is the greatest evidence of God's existence. The sun in the sky is like a lamp offered to the service of humanity. It illuminates and warms. The darkness of the night was created for rest. Rain was created for plants. It rains regularly for its formation. Animals are offered to the service of humanity. The seas are a separate source of income and are beautiful. These cannot be coincidences. It was the gift of a creator. Islam says that Allah exists and is one. Islam praises good morals and says that those who do good will be blessed in heaven forever.

Human condition. Many will say they preach their religion from the care and love in their hearts because they don't want you to "burn in eternal hellfire"; but really, many are just offended you don't believe in what they believe in. It's like anything else; when you disagree with certain types of people, they get offended and try to convince why THEIR way is the BEST way; same thing.

I am Christian, but I have respect for Atheists because it’s THEIR business if they decide to follow a certain religion or not. If you don’t believe in god, you do not have to. The most frustrating thing as an atheist is the sheer amount of accusations from apologists about why I am one. Not because I'm principled, but because there is clearly something wrong with me. Either because I suppress the truth inside of me, or pride, or something else. Your opening statement is also the definition of a non-sequitur, one does not conclude that because god exists that he is worthy of worship. I can say, for certain, is that he is more than worthy of my contempt.

It's not His existence that warrants worship. Rather it's His track record of His selfless sacrifice and pursuit of us and His love that literally heals and saves those that humbly accept Him.

@@anar3602 a gun is a very real thing. I can touch and hold it. There are photographs and videos taken of guns. There is scientific proof that guns exist. The only proof of a Christian god however, is a book that could very likely not be true, and a couple of paintings made by followers of the religion. I don’t believe a god can kill me because I don’t believe a god exists. I believe a gun can kill me because it has killed people in the past (with proof) and it exists.

@@stephenolan5539 Why do you think the enemy was able to bring such calamity on Job? Biblically, angels have authority to bring a harvest. The harvest is that which you sow, through your life, actions and words. Proverbs 18:21 - _"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit."_ Everything brought against Job's family and him was actually spiritually legal. The fallen are still angels and are still bringing a harvest wherever there is cracked door. But they naturally prefer to being death that robs, kills and destroys. It was rather the grace of God unto His righteous (Job) that kept a bad harvest at bay. God seeing the end, before the enemy came before His throne in chapter 1, knew it was a victory. Isaiah 55:8 - _"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD."_ This reality is temporal. Once we pass, our daily life choices determine/produce our desired the destination; with our Father or not, Love or not, Light or not.

As an atheist I will believe deities exists if the beings are right in front of me, I'd just have to ask who they are first. What would a Christian do if multiple gods appear? Would you be skeptical too? Would you confuse lesser gods as angels? Would you think you were hallucinating? Would you ask who they are too? (No arguments here just questions)

Hi! I’m Christian and I’ll give my opinion on this, Short answer: Yes. Hypothetically if multiple Gods suddenly appeared in front of me, I’d first think that this was either some form deception or yes, a hallucination. If both are proved to be false, then I’d have a lot of questions. I’d likely doubt their credibility but I would also be skeptical of my own faith. These so called Gods would have to provide evidence that what they say is truth and that my faith is not truth. If successful only then would I consider “converting” I guess. I say consider because this is kind of information wouldn’t be easy to take in when throughout your whole life you’ve been devoted to a faith that (in this case) has been proven to be false. However, I would not confuse these beings to be angels as an angel would not claim to be God or a God of any kind.

I was a Christian for decades and I thought I knew what evidence existed too. It turned out that I had been lied to. All of the research I did, showed that almost nothing in the Bible is supported by evidence. We know that most of the stories did not happen. So if a book is full of stories that we know aren’t true, then shouldn’t we require lots of evidence before we would believe in ANY story in that book?

@@roems6396 I never said that I’d completely deny the existence of multiple deities if they appeared right in front of me - only that I would be very skeptical. You have to understand this perspective from a Christian who has devoted their lives to a faith only to find out that it is false. It’s a lot to take in, as I said. Now, I’m not going to press too much on the last point because I’m not looking for a debate. I will leave it at this: Although I am still studying the Bible, I have not come across any contradictions and from the ones that I’ve heard of, they’ve easily been disproven. Most people do not read the full passage or in the context. As for evidence, there are historical resources and archeological evidence in support of the events that took place. Ultimately, it will take faith to believe in it, as it takes faith to believe in a lot of things outside of religion. I pray that the Lord will reveal Himself to you, and to whoever is reading this. May you come to believe in Christ the Son as your God and your Saviour, and surrender to His will. For the Lord is so gracious, may He fill your heart with His eternal love and peace. @@kundercover5530 I was a Christian who suddenly found out that what I was taught was false. There are hundreds of Bible contradictions. How can you possibly say they’ve been proven false? That’s simply not true. We know for a fact that almost nothing in the OT is true. They are all just stories made up by ignorant men. The gospels are written by anonymous scribes who never even met Jesus, and aren’t witnesses to anything from his life. You don’t have a shred of evidence to believe any Christian claims, but you believe them anyway. One of the worst lies in the Bible is that faith is a virtue. You do not need faith to believe in anything in our world. Faith equals gullibility. Jesus is a dead rabbi. He doesn’t love you. He’s dead. Yahweh was a minor war god in the Canaanite Pantheon. He delighted in murder, war, and destruction. He condoned slavery, r@pe, and murder. All of these can be found in the Bible. It says that he is angry, jealous, and vengeful. It also says that he is unchanging. But then he somehow changes to being loving, merciful, and understanding. This alone is a giant contradiction. We know his origins and why the Israelites changed his story. Judaism itself was polytheistic originally eventually they erased the names of the other gods, or pretended that they were alternate names for Yahweh. All of this is a fact.

How about the moral argument. You think that some things are good and some things are bad right? Like pain hurts and can be bad. Where does that come from. If the universe came from itself(which it must of to be a universe with entropy) where do morals come from. There should be no difference between good and bad and everyone should agree. But everyone agrees that there is some good and some bad whether they want to do(or experience) good or bad things. So tell me, where does this moral compass come from besides God?

There is proof outside of the bible. Proof that God is real is the design of the universe. Everywhere we look there is evidence of orderly, intelligent design. The planets orbit the sun, held in place by gravity. The sun keeps the earth warm enough to sustain life without scorching everything. Rain causes plants to grow, and the plants provide food for animals. It’s a beautifully ordered system. The human body is an absolute marvel. Look at any part of the body and you are confronted with evidence of God. Our eyes are able to take in our surroundings and pass that information to our brains, which then interprets what our eyes are seeing. Our hands are able to grasp and manipulate things. Our hearts effortlessly pump again and again, day after day, year after year without us telling it to. The order and excellence of the human body are not the result of accidental evolution. Order and beauty don’t accidentally spring from chaos. When we see an intricate painting, we know that it was created by a brilliant artist. Even if we don’t see the painter, experience tells us that such a thing couldn’t come about by accident. The human body is evidence that God is real. God is the brilliant divine artist who created us and the universe in which we live.

Frankly atheist cannot get around this. after all they do by the notion that nothingness can make everything which is unscientific. Only something or someone can. There’s a cause as the cause of the universe. If there is no such thing as an absolute truth with atheism then magic can be attributed to the existence of Everything….from an atheistic point of view at least….

Look up the creation museum in Kentucky, it has some AWESOME evidence :)) things that prove the flood and other things if you’re into science. For example, across the world, there are sediments from a floss in the same time period on OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE WORLD. That’s not possible except that it was in the time period of the flood. It was very personal, I loved Jesus so much, and I felt deeply called in many areas of my life, especially regarding the church. It really doesn’t help the atheist youre talking to to assume that their form of Christianity wasn’t as deep, meaningful or correct as yours, it’s just an easy way to dismiss someone’s else’s experience as invalid, especially if their experience contradicts your beliefs

The Bible reveals the state of it. For the living know that they will die one day (you) but as for the dead they know nothing at all. Ecc 9:5. God who breathe life into this planet is the life source. He promises to end the cycle of death for humans since life eternal for humans has been the reason he Created humans in the first place. That’s why you unlike animals have this desire to not grow old or get sick and die. Humans have always been trying to live longer. It’s part of our makeup. But to reject God who is the life source you opt out of living eternally in the conditions God purposed since the beginning. This is why Christian’s don’t take advice from atheist. There’s no reason to. We can say it’s not our loss. We know what’s better. We stand by it. If ppl want to only live a temporary existence nobody stops you. But maybe you may not already be aware of this but the world isn’t getting better….we know the cause and we wait.

@@idk83848 Free will cannot exist if you believe in an omniscient and omnipotent creator. If it is omniscient, then it has seen infinite worlds, and knows exactly what will happen in each of them. It has seen the universes in which we make every different possible choice throughout our lives. If it is omnipotent, then it could have created any of those worlds, but it chose this specific one. It already knows everything that will ever happen. That means you are a robot living out a script that this god chose for you. I know that the Bible tells you that you have free will, but this is just one contradiction among many more. You aren’t looking out for anyone. You’re putting your nonsense beliefs onto others who probably know it better than you do in the first place.

“In their pride..” Adam and Eve had not yet eaten of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, so they did not know what they were doing was evil. Not pride, ignorance. Whether Ignorance, or Pride, those are the traits God gave them. God placed the deceiver, placed the poison, set the trap, and let them walk into it. God is ultimately responsible for sin entering the world.

Going against gods will is evil. They knew not to go against his will, which is specifically why Eve hesitated to eat the fruit. Then Adam went and listened to his wife over God. They knew not to do that and then did it anyways. There was no ignorance in what they did because they knew not to do it yet went and did it anyways. God did not set up any traps because from the beginning he gave us the ability to choose or not choose him. It’s a fundamental requirement of love to be able to choose to love. Might I add, god told them they would DIE if they ate from the fruit. There was no ignorance there.

You are wrong. A vast majority of people who become atheists do so because they find that there isn’t enough evidence to warrant a belief in god In my experience, atheists are more willing to hear arguments for god than apologists are willing to consider alternate viewpoints. Adam and Eve didn’t eat the fruit because of pride. They did so because the serpent told them they’d gain wisdom (which they did). Also, they didn’t stop believing in god after they ate. You’re equivocating belief in god with worship of god. This is the only point I’d grant. Even if god did exist, some atheists wouldn’t be Christian. This isn’t because of pride or whatever. It’s because they find the character of god repulsive.

I am an atheist who was raised in an Orthodox church. I was devout in my faith but could no longer hold it because the bible was in conflict with the natural world. Furthermore, nobody around me could agree on what god was saying or what god wanted. None of it made sense. Eventually something in me snapped where i realized that the voice that answers my prayers was just my own desperation searching for a non-existent sign within endless disorder. If anyone can offer undeniable proof, I will in that instant no longer be atheist.

@@1saamor897 I cannot stress how wrong you are. For me, I need something observable and testable in order to believe. I need consistency with results. The bible makes claims about the world that are demonstrably false and there is no consistency. If there was consistency, there wouldn't be so many denominations of Christianity. So yes, it is about proof. Faith in the absence of evidence is just stupidity. Furthermore, no faith is required in order to accept the big bang theory. It's clear that the universe is expanding. It has been observed. If you reverse that, you'd have a moment in time where all matter that we're aware of would be in a central location. This is all that's posited by the big bang theory and all observations have been consistent with that theory. No faith required at all. Unlike the bible's creation story which is just absurd and conflicts with reality.

I think both the Big Bang and god are too far-fetched to be real. I believe the universe has existed for an infinite amount of time, and that over time, gravitational fields and stuff slowly created atoms, molecules, and eventually the elements and planets we know today. I believe life evolved from a single called organism that just so happened to have DNA and the capacity for life. From there, everything was created.

It doesn’t make sense to me to say “Things exists therefor the exact religion that I follow is 100% true”. Without the existence of a god I still find joy in my life. I spend time with my friends and family and doing the things I love like making music and learning. I have no promise of a better tomorrow, only what I can make of it. I frankly don’t understand why one would need a transcendent deity of any kind to exist to achieve such things.

I think it's much more noble to accept the fact that the universe is almost if not entirely indifferent to humanity, that conscious existence is absurd, yet despite those facts we try to get some meaning and wisdom from our lives. I'd rather be the result of random chemical interactions than a slave to the will of some unknowable creator deity. Faith comes down to the inability to admit that we are quite insignificant as a component of the cosmos. I think if a creator does exist, he has a lot to answer for in the way of needless suffering. Also, if people want to pretend a creator or deity exists, it has to be considered that said deity doesn't care about us or worse enjoys torturing us. Those are unpleasant thoughts which make cosmic insignificance feel a lot warmer.

Ive never read the bible and im not planning to but i feel that trying to convert someone is also a purely dissrespectfull. Im not trying to start some fire show just one mans opinion. Well Jesus told us to make disciples of all nations. Think of it like this. There’s a tsunami coming towards us and we are telling ppl to go the other direction. Ofc to the ppl, they won’t care etc. But to Christians, we don’t want you to end up suffering in the end. Ik it may seem annoying to you, but that’s because you don’t know why Christians do that. For those who argue: “he obviously means that Adam and Eve have proof!” Please note that he’s arguing that it was pride that blinded them. Let it be known that not all atheists are prideful. It shouldn’t be, since they live with their decisions. There isn’t some bleeding child to “wash away” the wrong they had committed, they can only make it better for others (which some do). It’s only Christian’s who excuse their actions with an entity.

@@Isaiah463-4 Sins. Any actions committed by an individual, whether based on the biblical idea on bad or what society has deemed as bad. Do you believe someone should be simply forgiven for their actions? That by believing that this figure gave them a free get-out-of-jail card, they can get out of jail? It seems great at first, but there will be those who seek to exploit it. There always will be. A specific example is Jeffrey Dahmer, some say he repented and got to go to heaven. What does that tell others? That as long as you pray to god, you can be forgiven for whatever.

Not to mention that Adam and Eve were incapable of pride, obedience, or disobedience. They are literally infants in that story. We don’t punish infants for doing something wrong because we know they don’t understand the consequences of their actions. Yahweh is supposed to be their father, but not only did he teach them nothing, he actively withheld all knowledge of good and evil from them, and put it in the tree of knowledge. That’s why this entire story is just the long way of saying, “Ignorance is bliss.” We are happy (in Eden) as children, and as we learn more about the world as we grow up, we are cast out of that state of happiness.

As an atheist, if God ACTUALLY came to earth and I SAW him and he could PROVE he was God, I would believe in Christ. But not everything Christ stands for. And I can believe in someone without liking them. I believe that one Karen in my class exists but I don’t like her

Yeah, some atheists aren't as descriptive, but to be honest, as an atheist it's actually hard. As someone who goes to a very catholic hs, I lost 2 friends because i spilled the beans on how I believe. I used to be christian, then I swapped, and im proud of my decision. I don't like it when my teachers call in a priest to talk. I don't like it when rumors spread and people start avoiding me or thinking different of me. It feels like i'm not even human sometimes, and I'm sick of it. I'm fine with christians, but not every thing is about religion. I don't need to change my mind. And if I'm wrong about this, then why would someone so forgiving and kind, send somebody to burn in hell because they didn't have enough explanation? I'm atheist because we scientifically have enough proof to understand how things work. If any christian is against this, feel free to reply. I won't start an argument, but I want to know how people feel. Have a good day!

He jumped from asserting something along the lines of "atheists wouldn't accept God even if he was right in front of them" to talking about the Biblical stories of the Garden of Eden and the sea splitting, which are clearly just stories, with no reason provided independently of the Bible to back them up (otherwise it's just circular reasoning), and there is very clearly every reason not to believe them unless you essentially presuppose their truth because they're in the Bible.

His proof for saying that “these people have done these things in that situation, therefore modern people would do the same in that situation!” Is flawed. It’s like running an experiment based on how animated Disney animals walk then saying that actual animals would walk in the exact same way. I think that if there is actually proof, most people would believe it as there won’t be another possible explanation

I'm an atheist, if God appeared infront of me I would absolutly believe it, if he could somehow assure me that im not just trippin balls, like showing me something that I couldn't possibly think of myself. Hell, I even believe the universe would be a better place if god actually existed, but there just isn't any definitive reason to believe that; but there is evidence against that. For example: What about the people before the bible? Did some of them go to hell because they didn't believe in christianity? Of course there's gonna be some bs answer for that all over again and for any other such question. I think believing in god especially in the christian holy triad should be spiritual but not religious. I believe it's a wonderful idea to praise the concepts of meaningful suffering / purpose / beauty / ... and just overall goodness, as one, and to live accordingly. But believing some external and seperate from you god gives you the moral authority to rightously kill/maim/ improsen / brain-wash / torture certain people, and makes some people more worthy of living then others just for the arbitrary fact of believe, even seems to contradict it's own doctrine of love your neighboor. You can't deny that god, if he exists, has been massivly exploited to kill innocent people and rob people of their land, I mean look at the templars, the witch hunts, the inquisitions, conquistadors ... .

It’s better for society of we just accept that we don’t know everything. We don’t know how the Big Bang happened, and we don’t know if there really is a god that set it into motion. Scientists have no problem saying that they don’t know something, whereas religious people try to fill the gap in their knowledge with their religion. Let’s just accept that we are human and we don’t know everything. Science is the best bet we have to actually finding out the truth of our world.

What you just said is a logical fallacy called an argument from ignorance. You can’t imagine how the universe could just naturally create the wonders of nature on earth, so you say it isn’t possible. That’s faulty reasoning. Saying “magic did it”, is a much worse argument that just admitting you don’t know, and leaving it at that.
