Even if the device doesn't use batteries in series with bms...those batteris can degrade and explode. I can get that same battery for about $5.00 on amazon. If you could remove the battery or batteries and solder wires where it simply pulls power from usb...this would be a great idea...I myself have a few old phones....

I have seen photos of iphone batteries exploding and catching fire on cam as well as a vehicle on fire from an exploded samsung battery. To survive a fire needs oxygen. PC fans are pulling air right into the case. Li polymer batteries in tablets are labeled as safer but google it...because even they can expand and explode. Do you connect the usb charging/data cable to an *always on* usb port? Because they are inside the pc are they being used more, which could multiply the battery degredation rate??

@@bradfordnelson1252 In any type of use case like this it is 1005 certain you will have degraded and dangerous battery within weeks, I tried using an old phone to run a smart home bridge app, it doesn't use much resourced and screen can be off, with 2 weeks the battery cover popped off the phone and battery swelled up like balloon and almost exploded. the way these devices manage power is a disgrace they can not be run from the USB without the battery being constantly charged and discharged they should just charge the battery to 85-100 % and then stop charging it and run the device from the USB power completely until it is unplugged. instead of powering he device from the battery when it has power from the wall already, if the device is fully charged and plugged i you would think it would be smart enough to just run from the wall and not touch the battery while it is plugged in and fully charged

Nice video! One problem: With macrodroid (screen of - No Lock) screen turns off when I turn off the pc. But when I turn it on it shows the charging animation and then goes to the lock screen.

I used UI interaction actions to click and swipe up. But the swipe up action doesnt go all the way up in order to unlock the screen

My problem is that this tablet has to stay on, once the tablet's battery is out of power you have to turn it on by hand and start up the app again and to do so I have to open my pc case. Also to my understanding is that both devices have to be connected through internet. There seem to be too many struggles that could get involved. I just wish to install a sensor panel that works all the time and doesn't get disconnected in any way possible.

most likely the battery will puff up and explode within a few weeks time, you can not use an Android like this, they botched the power management on all phones and tablets, the battery will be continually charging and discharging and not running off the USB, it will degrade very quickly. there is an app called caffeine that is supposed to prevent the device from going to sleep but I never had much luck with it. android design absolutely sucks (IOS too) for repurposing old devices, the power management makes any use case almost impossible unless you remove emulate the battery with buck converter or something

are there any battery issues with this? does root and macrodroid give you the option to have it charge the battery to say 80% and then stop and then just run the tablet from the micro USB, this way the battery is not constantly charging and discharging, I tried using old phones for other things before and this quickly became an issue an fire hazard, the battery will puff and might explode after few weeks to a month if you keep the screen on and the device plugged in, Android power management is quite retarded you know. if you leave device plugged in will continuously charge and discharge the battery instead of just charging the battery to a certain % and then not touch it unless to maintain it while the device uses only the power coming in from USB, this is how it SHOULD have been done. So I want to know if you battery has puffed up and how to prevent it, aside from removing the battery and emulating it with a power supply which I have had mixed results with in the past. also is there an IOS equivalent for space desk?

Check your phone settings there should be an option to pick what appears when you launch, pick the no home screen on3

pc's do have capacitors inside them but most of the bigger and dangerous ones are inside your power supply and in case you didn't notice....they don't make the supply cases out of plastic!!! Tablets and phones often use more than one battery in series and the bms inside can fail. When it does and the batteries are not charged equally....

I’m using a android tablet as second screen for aida64. Works great with the app I’m using for it. The only problem I have is: When connected and running the app, the tablet does not charge. And after a while the Android gives the alert of low battery power. Anyone knows how to make it charge while using? Is there a setting I need to change or something like that?
