When Im drinking inside my escalade in the middlenof the night.. I use this trick. Dont have to wake up no one starting cars at 1am or 2am or 3am.

YUP, only works on certain models too, I drive long distance all the time and in the summer I like to keep the AC on and in the winter the heat, cannot do that now I can't even sleep in the car.

@@hmoobva3581 I have a 2021 SLT so fortunately it did work but I had no damn clue and I have ptsd because both of my dogs almost died because of this!! I left the spare key in the truck and I was nearby feeding my ducks but it was a scorching hot day. I always bring the dogs everywhere and leave the car running. Thank GOD I noticed it shut off!! I’m so sorry you’re doesn’t work. That sucks!! And yeah, driving sleepy is something I will never do and I like to drive at night so I’d pull over and sleep and wake up sweating because the stupid thing shut off!! Whatever engineer designed this needs to be fired!! And every sales person that sells one of these needs to warn people! I was also shocked they don’t give loaner cars like Cadillac does. Cheap bastards. So many reasons I wish I would’ve bought ab Escalade instead!!! 😫

Great video. I was wondering if there was a way to permanently remove Onstar from my 2025 2500 silverado. I dont need or want there service. Nor do i want there invasive monitor tracking and listening to my every move. I am 100 percent a law abiding citizen. But the fact that a mega corporation has the ability to listen to my phone calls go through my texts and call logs. My location data and logs my music choices my etc etc and my conversations and just literally anything and everything my vehicle does is highly invasive. If half the people actually knew the capabilities of onstar they would want big brother out of ther front seat as well.

Going to ask a question on this. I have a 2022 LT (with this interior refresh) that I bought last week and only came with one key. Today, I got the second key done at the dealer, and ever since, this message automatically pops up - EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It did not do this before the second key was done. Any thoughts here? I took it to the dealer who told me that it will go away after 24 hours (apparently its turned on when doing work - like programming new keys) to ensure the truck doesnt turn off as some of the processes can take over an hour and needs to be running. Sure it enough, it was off after 24 hours.

It automatically goes back to default once the vehicle is shut off. You have to do this every time you start the vehicle in order for it to work.

@@silverforever15there isn’t a button under the screen for this feature. I think you’re confusing the auto start stop and this. Auto start stop is what shuts the car off when you come to a stop and restarts when you lift off the brake. This video is for the feature that shuts the vehicle down after it’s been left idling for an extended period of time usually like 30 mins. HTH.

I need clarification on something. So the first time you push the button are pressing the gas pedal to crank the engine or is it just to turn on the computer system then you press start+gas pedal to crank?

Keep your foot on the break as you turn on your engine while bring the start button for a total of 5 seconds. The message should pop up on the dash. I tried it on my 2023 canyon and it worked

Not since gm engine shutting down cylinders have they done anything so dumb( it died fast cause you wee using 4 pistons to drive 8 half of motor was dead reciprocating weight bahahahahah). it saves no gas or co2 and wears out battery and starter much faster and allowing engine oil to drain at every stop to restart and run dry for a second or 2 wears motor faster for no gain. STUPID most engine wear is done on start up and first moments before oil is flowing and lubing top end good. yes in major tarffic in a city this is off long enough to let oil return to pan and have to be repumped to top end, gm engineers are plain dumb.

The instructions were, “When you’re starting your vehicle, continue holding the button for an additional 5 seconds”. You have to hold the brake in order for the vehicle to start.
