Hi Dean, Creative idea. Going to give it a try. I teach woodshop and construction in a jail and we give away about 800 toys to underserved kids in the community at Xmas. Inmates learn skills and kids that might not get a present do. Win-Win...Thank you sir!

WOW! Just how simple can you get? Inexpensive wood, and a two-fer turning. And unlimited profiles available. Suggestion. For installing the second set of wheels use a forstner bit a little bigger than the wheels and bore a depression in the anvil block. That way you won't be concerned with changing the setting of the first side wheels. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.

Richard that is awesome that you are able to share with your grandchildren, It was my grandfather (a carpenter) that got me interested in woodworking. Your grandchildren will cherish this time for the rest of their lives. Thanks for Watching!!!

Another great video and gift idea for young children. Can you share a source for the wood wheels and axles? Also what diameter wheel works best for theses cars? Thanks again for sharing your gifts and talents!
@DeansWoodworking3 жыл бұрын
you can get the wheels and axels from amazon the ones I used on this project are 1 1/4". Thanks for Watching!!!

Nice job, Dean. Question: what was the diameter of the wheels you used and how far from the center line were holes drilled? Thanks in advance for your reply.
@DeansWoodworking2 жыл бұрын
I belive the wheels were 1 1/4" I don't know how far from center they were I belive I measured an inch and a half from each end. Thanks for Watching!!!

A really neat little project, and as always clearly explained. I think my 6 year old grandson would iike a few. So would my granddaughter when she was that age. You might want to be aware of your unconcious gender bias - not only "little boys" can like cars. After all, even NASCAR has women drivers now!
