Good mod! I picked up a backpack sprayer strap system similar to this (not as nice) a few years ago on Amazon. The waist belt is a game changer for distributing the load. I packed out a deer 3/4 of a mile with my XOP Vanish in '21 and it worked perfectly.

FYI, you can remove the waist belt from the back pad as well if you just want to use the straps and back pad. It’s connected by Velcro.
