you don't need a cap card to use a dslr camera like canon has a utility you simply download and it'll allow you to use your camera as a webcam. USB hooked up to your canon then plug it into your pc and there ya go! Just make sure you get the appropriate driver for your pc to use the camera properly.

can you help me a bit here! i am looking this camera out to connected to a video switcher and record for 1.5 hours the most you get to experience any over heating issue? also since you are a big of a expert, does these cameras turn off after some time?, do I need to record if I have it connected to OBS?

I used the camlink with my rebel t5i but after 30 minutes of streaming it turn OFF the screen and already disable auto shoot and still same problem. What can I do?

Just curious if anyone's had success using a Canon C100 Mark ii with clean output (no menu's on the screen showing up in the broadcast) with either the Elgato products, Black Magic Design ATEM Mini Pro, or AJA U-TAP HDMI, to use for live streaming with Zoom, Riverside, etc. for video calls and meetings?

Is there an alternative to EOS Webcam Utility. it never works. It will connect then immediately lose connection. My camera display screen has the battery and PC icons on a black screen when connected to webcam utility. EOS t8i. I thought maybe it was the cable not being a data transfer cable, but ever so often it actually works. when it does work, and I stop using it, the next time I try to use it, it takes an act of God to get it to work again.

My Nikon D7500 i do it in theory with micro USB, but even though i literally never used it there is a "loose contact" (not sure if that is the correct English term). Making it so i can not actually do it. I know it works and looks decent but it is still not usable since well it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting all the time. Bought an all new cable in hopes that it was my cable but it was not, it is the connection port on the camera.
