I need your help. I have the Canon SL2, firmware is updated, I have the webcam utility. Using OBS, with 2 other USB webcams. I want to switch between the 3 cams, using the "auto" feature in OBS [that works]. When using the Canon as a Source with the USB cable, the shutter opens, and I get a clean picture. When I click a USB webcam as a Source, the Canon shutter closes, and I then see the USB webcam. HOW CAN I PREVENT THE USB FROM CAUSING THE SHUTTER CLICK? No one on youtube talks about this issue...everyone must mute their mic, so we dont hear the click. I cant imagine...what if someone uses 3 DSLR cams with OBS? Does it click between each cam take? That would be unacceptable. So, I uninstalled the EOS Utility, plugged in usb to the Canon, to a capture card, turned the Canon ON to the camera mode...plugged the USB into my laptop, and the Canon preview screen went black...no life at all. Then in OBS, it doesnt recognize the Canon's USB. This is maddening. The DSLR is NOT plug/play friendly. I just want to turn the Canon ON, then in OBS, be able to switch to another USB cam, then back to the Canon, then to another USB cam....all with silence. Is this possible?
@jzplayr3 жыл бұрын
@@dukepham My original problem with my Canon cam was…in OBS, I had a problem when changing Scenes to another cam…the Canon’s shutter would close, then I’d go back to the Canon Scene, and the shutter would open. Uninstalled “EOS Webcam Utility” and “EOS Utility” and reinstalled only the “EOS Webcam Utility”, now there’s no shutter click. The good news is, with “EOS Webcam Utility”, I get clean HDMI in OBS in my scene.

Nice. 2 questions: 1. What camera is best if I want HDMI AND autofocus? I see people using Sony for that. 2. You gave the resolution for the HDMI output, but can you give the res for the USB output? I liked to see the 2 compared numerically. thanx.
@dsha20064 жыл бұрын
@@dukepham thanks. but it's hard to find out of cameras have CLEAN autofocus AND clean HDMI so it would be great if you had some suggestions. For instance, the M50 can get a clean HDMI output, but the autofocus is not clean...so I guess it's not truly clean. 2. Does the camera shut off after 30 mins when using the HDMI method? Enjoyed the video, Duke. well done! I like Duke's full explanation of Webcam Utility and CamLink differences also the audio comparisons between them which I knew about already. However I did not see a means of setting either resolution of aspect ratio in EOS Web Utility for EOS Rebel SL1 (the smaller of my two cameras). Is there a way to set aspect ratio in the USB output to Zoom and for Zoom setting to reflect this setting? Please reply with your comment. Thanks again. I will try with CamLink if I can find it.

@@dukepham I saw in my menu that I can turn off the menu independently of other outputs on SL-1, but that's good point to check out. My other camera body is 5DMK IV which absolutely has it. I'd like to set it up the same on either. Both also have Webcam Utility. I assume that the setting to turn off the menu overlay on HDMI. ALL changes will need to be accomplished BEFORE connecting the camera to the computer. Will check my settings further.

@DannyBatista4 жыл бұрын
I’m not referring to the video you posted, I’m just referring to in your experience. If you’re filming with the camera via el gato, and your mic is a separate input from the camera, do you notice audio lag or audio not syncing with the camera video input/source. This is my issue with my z7 and syncing over obs or another app like zoom (when using an alternate mic not plugged into the camera) is not fun.
I've checked and as of the time I reply you, The webcam utility pro only supports up to MacOSX 12
