One of my previous jobs painting, we had parts that needed lettering filled in. We mixed up our paint in a small cup and used syringes to apply the inlay.

Double edge sword with what activator you use. Slow is best to keep from dulling out either side with overspray. But far better chance of running it.

I used that Frog tape on my wheels after I had painted them black and clear coated. I used the Frog tape to mask off the areas I wanted to add another color to. When I pulled the Frog tape off, some adhesive was still left on my black and clear coated wheels. I spent many hours getting the black and clear coat on. They looked beautiful! I'd really hate to have to do it all again, so my question is...is there a method to getting this off? I used rubbing alcohol to no avail. I didn't think Frog tape was supposed to leave adhesive residue behind? Was it something I did? Too hot? Too humid? Too many questions? LOL any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. Hey Bryan I'm getting these same wheels but leaving the tips machined and the face black gloss since that's how they come from lexani. I am however adding a carbon fiber stenciling on the barrel, do you think that's a good way to get it done or should this shop I'm purchasing from do the hydro dipping instead.? I'll have to ask if they even do hydro dipping. Hopefully you can get back when you get a chance. Thank you

To make it look the best you should probably dip the barrel if its not a very large barrel. If its very wide, stenciling may be the best approach so you dont get as much stretch.

I believe it should be the same process but we dont do powder coating so I am not 100% sure on this. You may have to ask a shop that does powder coating on that process.

Also to help get in tight areas to wipe away excess around inlays you can use a Q-tip

No we actually applied a few coats the first time and then sanded everything again and applied 2 more coats after the color fill to get a very smooth and professional look.

Those are Lexani rims. You may check at some wheel and tire places and see if they have a rim like that.
