How to unclog and fix an edible ink printer that's not printing a color correctly or printing faded

Canon edible printer not printing color correctly? If your edible images printer isn't printing a specific color, or if the color is printing very faded, you should try to clean the print head to see if that helps. That could unclog the print head, but it still might not be printing correctly. In that case, you should check the cartridge itself to see if it's the cartridge that's the problem.

What if the printer is flashing white orange?

That could be anything from low ink to no paper to a cartridge not being recognized...What is the message it's telling you on the computer screen?

@@Acaketoremember I did a cleaning last week only to discover I needed ink. I did another cleaning last night and Once I put the cartridges in that I ordered from Amazon, that was probably a stupid move, got the flashing. So then I removed all of those cartridges and put my old ones back in, and still getting the white and orange flashing. I didn’t think to open computer.

Oh my goodness!! Thank you so much!!!💜💜 I didn't even know there was a tab underneath the ink sticker on top. I use the cannon with edible ink cartridges. So since we can remove them.... Do you refill the ink to these yourself? Or is it too messy?

I do refill them, I use the refill kits from Icing Images, but you should use kits that the ink maker you buy from uses so that the inks will match. I only refill them 2 times, though, I've found that the third time you refill them is when they start acting up. Most companies say that you can refill them three times before throwing them out, but I don't.

What happens if my cartridge is brand new and I’ve cleaned my print head ink is flowing very well when plug is moved and still no magenta!! What could be the problem?

Unfortunately, that's common problem for me too, and it usually means that the print head is burned out OR there's a plug in the magenta in the print head. You can try blowing through the print head by force using a syringe, and you might end up dislodging a plug of ink that's int here and it will fix it. But If that doesn't work, it might be time for a new printer. I go through printers about once evry 6-8 months because I use them so much and the food coloring ink isn't really meant to be used long-term in them, it just ruins the printers eventually with all the cleaning etc. Watch this video and try this because it might dislodge something, though: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJyTpWqFna-ijs0

All my ink cartridges were so dry! I did this to all of them and not one dripped. The sponges just sucked up all the remaining ink in the reservoirs. But it worked!!! I'm so thrilled I have orders to fill this week and I was so concerned. Thank you so much!!

I have a cannon and the edible images i print always have lines going through the image and the image never comes out the right color or u see the lines across

Are they lines of ink, or from the rollers pressing on the sheet as it goes through the printer? You could try cleaning the rollers, and make sure that "prevent paper abrasion" is set on the printer settings.

I have ts700 all other colors are okay but cyan is totally missing.., could this be print head clogs?

Yes, when one color stops but everything else is fine it could be that the one color is clogged up.

Sorry if this is a late comment, but what do I do if my ink carts don’t have stoppers to remove to let the ink flow? Or how do I get carts that do have stoppers?

What kind of printer do you have? I get my cartridges from Icing Images, I've never seen any that you can't refill.

At some point the print head just gives out and won't print anymore...How old is the printer?

I have tried what u suggested many times and it worked....except for today. It started that one color wasn't printing. The more I cleaned, the more colors wouldn't print. Now it prints zero colors. What else ids there to do but buy a new printer? TIA

If it's totally stopped printing, it's probably time to buy a new printer, sorry to say. The print head will just wear out after a while and there's nothing you can do. I have one that's doing the same thing right now and i need to just switch it out for a new one, it happens to all of them eventually.

What does it mean if all my pink images print red? Which color isn’t working? I bought a brand new Canon and it’s doing the same thing! Must be a cartridge right? Could it possibly be the cartridge connections not being read properly?

So you're saying that you've had two printers do the same thing? I would look at the printer settings and adjust the magenta down on the printer, but depending on how that looks, it could be the computer that you're printing from. I think that one of my computers displays thigs differently than the other, and they print differently, too. If you adjust the color settings in the computer that might help.
