Thanks Claire. I’ve just bought the Luna book. Was hoping to see your finished pjs. I haven’t sewn since school 40 years ago so am grateful for your pointers

Hi, I hope you enjoy your Luna book as much as I do. I have a finished picture of the pj's and can post it on Instagram so you can see it? Do you use that platform? (I don't know how else to show you unless I make a video of how to sew the PJ's?) I plan on making some more step by step pointers for machine sewing Luna in the New Year so keep tuned. You're going to enjoy getting back into sewing - it's very addictive! Have a great day 😊

Thank you Janette - I'm going to post some more tips on how to lay out the pattern on the fabric too and why some pieces say 'cut two mirrored' etc. I'm hoping it will give new sewists the confidence to find some fabric and have a go. The clothes can all be stitched by hand too so it doesn't matter if you don't have a machine. I'm so thrilled you are finding these videos helpful :)

@@lynne3124 Sometimes we need to be selfish (but don't tell anyone else!) In today's crazy world a little bit of mindful stitching can mend the soul - so it's medicinal! 😀 Whenever you find the time, enjoy the process 🥰

Brilliant. That’s really helpful to me as I’m a new sewer. I’ve just ordered the book yesterday. So hope I can follow your advise and make some wonderful garments. How do I get human garments from the Luna patterns? 🌼
@ClaireEngland12 жыл бұрын
Hi Marilyn, thank you for your comment and welcome to your sewing journey. Unfortunately you won't be able to make human garments from the patterns in the book, but you will find patterns online for children's or adult clothing. Some pattern companies to look for are: Patterns for Pirates, Made for Mermaids, Stylearc, Merchant & Mills, Itch to Stitch, Cashmerette and Sew Over It to name but a few. Dressmaking patterns are readily available in paper or in pdf format to print out at home. My advice is to start with something simple and then build up. To have a look at what dressmaking involves you can follow my Cashmerette Upton sewalong, even though it is more of an intermediate pattern than a beginner. Good luck on your journey! Have a great day 🥰

Oh sorry I must have misunderstood. I thought you were making some PJs for a baby! 🌼

@@marilynmiddleton9088 It's ok Marilyn. The clothes I'm talking about making are for Luna Lapin toy rabbit. The book includes the patterns for the toy rabbit and some clothes. In fact, if you are a beginner sewist, the clothes are based on very similar techniques to children's clothing so for a much smaller outlay you can learn sewing techniques and then move on to larger pieces. In the future I do want to do tutorials for children's clothes as I love making them too. 🙂
