We the Moroccan Berbers AMAZIGH live with the Jews for 5400 years in Morocco, and we have never seen black people !! I am Moroccan and I approve this message ! Moroccan rulers never trusted local Amazigh tribes, for they knew they colonized it using religion and deceit. They had to borrow support from mid Africa because they have no local legitimacy even now. The royal palace is filled with guardians of black descent. One more thing, rulers of arab descent used marriage institution as a way a to get their roots deeper in an essentially Amazigh Morocco, they either married from local native Amazigh tribes or in order to have the support of black African soldiers they married a black woman . Mula ismail did just that and the mother of Hassan II was also black. So, you were right when you said that the history of Black folks in North Africa is time sensitive and I should add political sensitive too.

@lilMissF0F09 ай бұрын
@@blackdreamhunk3413its wrong to say all the moors are black. The term moor mainly means muslims. The muslim nation is very diverse and never looked at your ethnicity, but your worth as human on what you have achieved and accomplished in life, you wont be denied a post because of your heritage in our culture 1400 years back and still. So saying moors were only black is incorrect. Moors were south and north africans and arabs. The leaders were mainly colonizers from the arab peninsula, that conquered their way to the west in the Iberian peninsula, on the way the north and south africans joined and contributed the achievements. Worth noting that the last Andalusian leader is a native arab original heritage from Medina, his tribe were the first to ally with prophet Mohammad and the descendants ruled south of Spain. So to say, the moors were a combination of arab, berber and south african people. There is no one dominating race. It is more correct to say muslims, rather than listing the heritage of the moors. For example In the middle east when we talk about Andalusia, we just say the muslims, we never say Arabs, Berbers or Africans. And the people who contributed in our school textbooks are called with their names, never their ethnicity.

If more people understood such nuances we would not see through lens that emphasizes the dissociation between the middle east and Africa. If we don't then we just end up further divided just as the west planned. We must learn from history the need to unite. I dream of a day all of Africa is united as one. And a middle east that's united, an Asia that's united. Every continent should be a super power to balance each other.

I remember her telling us that we had Moorish blood within us. If you are from Spain you indeed have a lot of cultural history because of the visigoths, the Romans, the umiyads, the Moors and such. Now here in New Mexico I have native American blood and me because my great great grandfather was a Navajo. This is all very interesting to me I've always wanted to know about my background not as an American citizen but as originally coming from Spain and where that came from.

For anyone still in doubt that there were black Moors, this was taken directly from the Oxford Islamic Studies department: "The Moors do not constitute a well-defined ethnic group, and, unlike the Mongols, they do not represent a clearly identifiable tribal confederacy. They are, rather, a large and diffuse ethnic group consisting primarily of *sub-Saharan Africans* (Mauritania, Northern Senegal, and Western Mali) , Berbers (Morocco and Western Algeria), Arab Bedouins, and a landed Arab elite (primarily from Yemen and Syria). In most writings on the Moors, darkness of skin has been applied as a characteristic for any and every Muslim invader of Europe."

Notice how when there's a scholarly comment with cited sources, none of these people have anything to say. Yet, they're quick to dismiss something without any scholarly backing. "You weren't moors". Based on what evidence? Here's another source that builds with yours. Golden Age of the Moor by Ivan Van Sertima "The seven hundred years during which the Moors dominated the Iberian peninsula was an era in which many Europeans came into North Africa in states of servitude. The Muslims brought millions of European slaves over to the North African ports of Sale, Tangier, Algiers, Tunis, Tripoli, Fez and Marrakesh and some of the northern Egyptian towns. Onc very famous Sultan, Mulai Ismail of Meknes, in Morocco, had as many as 25,000 Euro pean slaves who participated in the building of his colossal stables. Sudanese were also taken into slavery but before the fifteenth century not as many as the whites. It was these Europeans who began to modify through intermixture the earlier black inhabitants of North Africa. This is what eventually made so many North Africans appear different from the sub-Saharan Africans. The anthropologist, Dana Reynolds, in an exhaustive and meticulously detailed essay, has attempted to trace the African roots of the original North African peoples. She cites half a dozen Greek and Byzantine (neo-Roman writers) from the first to the sixth century AD, who describe the Berber population of North Africa as black-skinned. Among these writers are Martial, Silius Italicus, Corippus and Procopius. The original Black Berbers, who were called Moors, were the North African ancestors of the present day dark-brown and brown-black peoples of the Sahara and the Sahel, mainly those called Fulani, Tuareg, Zenagha of Southern Morocco, Kunta and Tebbu of the Sahel countries as well as other black Arabs now living in Mauretania and throughout the Sahel. They include the Trarza of Mauretania and Senegal, the Mogharba as well as dozens of other Sudanese tribes, the Chaamba of Chad and Algeria. Apart from her very detailed study of the origins and affiliations of the various tribes, she points out that the Africans involved in the Moorish occupation of Iberia did not just build remarkable things in Europe but also in their native lands. They founded and constructed many industrious and pros perous towns all over the north of Africa and as far south as Timbuctoo. The ruins of their many castles can be seen as much in Northern Africa as in Andalusia." On top of the fact that it is well documented in law (treaty, congressional records etc.) That "black" people are the Moors of old. I can show you and provide cases for which Moorish Americans who are in proper status have won their cases in court and even the World Hague Court.

the moors were not black they were berber and Carthage. It is a spit in the eye of the peoples of Morocco, Tunisia Algeria and other non black African countries who came from the moors. Black people complain about whites appropriating their culture when now they are doing it to the berbers and Mediterranean people of North Africa. What's next, black people are going to steal Chinese culture and claim it was black people that built the great wall of China. You want to see a Moor, meet a Berber Algerian.

As a North African Amazigh (berber), this video is very misleading and it feels like it's pushing a certain political agenda in favor of black people and the whole #BLM movement. Why don't they admit that the first Moors enslaved Sub Saharan African and recruited some as soldiers, that eventually under "Islam", became Moors aswell. My point which's why the video is misleading, Moors are white and brown, the blacks are Sub Saharan. Anyone who says otherwise has clearly never set a foot in North Africa.
