WARNING: it seems that this does not work on RTX 4090 Cards. It would be better to just drop the power target on these cards instead. Check the video from Roman Hartung "der8auer" on that topic. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGHcd52flKx-l80

This was a great explanation. I recently bought an ASUS TUF 17 with an i5-11260h and a RTX 3050ti, my sweet spot was 800mV / 1800Mhz, no more than 80°c. (Update: ASUS TUF 15 with an i7-12650h and a RTX 3060 - 800mV / 1750Mhz)

Im pairing i5 11400h and RTX3050ti (60+15w). I was having 86°c on both and a little bit of throttiling. Then found undervolting and im running -80mv on cpu (3400mhz boost locked instead of 4500) and 783~mV/1750mhz on gpu. Cpu is stable arround 60°c and Gpu is stable arround 72°c. Extremely happy with the result. My main purpose was to reduce heat and fan noise not to increase performance but this helped me do both at the same time hehe. Its like a cheat code for laptops, wish I found this earlier

@ephesius75762 жыл бұрын
@@natnaelabayneh7664 well I did not want to push too hard. I decided to give my cpu - 80 randomly and ran stress test then played games for couple hours. Then went for my gpu and firstly I checked the Temps and mhz values while playing games. It was bouncing arround 1650 to 1900mhzish at arround 84 87 degrees and I said I would rather have 1750 stable instead with lower temps so adjusted lowest voltage for the gpu. I need to increase my voltage to get more mhz out of it but I don't really need it. I don't really need 6 cores At 4.4mhz but if I want to bump my core clock high boost still works perfectly at - 80. But that increases degrees a little bit but still stays below 70. It's really cold and safe

So does MSI afterburner have to run in the background when ever you turn on the PC? and will driver updates or changing the setting in windows or nvidia change your undervolting? so you should check reguarly to see if the settings apply?

If it runs at 1935MHz stock, why would Zotac list only 1827MHz for that GPU in their spec page?

Cause that's the guaranteed boost clock. It's a bit different from chip to chip. Most of them will be faster than the 1827mhz

Can't I just use the GPU as it is? I really don't want to mess around with these settings and risk voiding my warranty.
@Hubwood2 жыл бұрын
This NOT risking your warranty at all! Don't be afraid of undervolting :) In fact it will extend the life of your GPU as it gets less hot.

I tried to keep it safe, and just leave it at 800/1920mhz and 1v. I hope this is ok.

Undervolting is always safe. The worst thing that can happen is a driver crash and the GPU will reset. No harm in that. In fact undervolting is good for your hardware as it won't heat up as much and it probably will last longer.

@@igoresque ah I see what you mean. As you can see in the Witcher it actually drops only 200mhz. And you can manually rise the memory clock after the undervolting to compensate that.
@igoresque2 жыл бұрын
@@Hubwood it goes to 6800 because of CUDA P2 state getting triggered at that low voltage, which sets memory clock to 200 below P0 state. You can also see that at some point (19:54) your memory clock still goes down to 5000 in Witcher because the power state is not consistent there. And since in Witcher you have GPU at 731 mV, why not just up to 750 mV? My 3050 gets 1657 MHz core at 750 mV with no issues.
