You MUST disable USB Debugging mode when you are done with it, as a security measure! There is a relatively low probability that, say, a public charging spot or a computer you plug into will be trying to find its way into your cellphone, and you will click on connection acknowledgement popup by mistake. Then such a surreptitious "charging station" has a complete access to an unlocked phone, on a low level. Yes, low probability, but it's full access though.
@ExplainingAndroid3 жыл бұрын
a good tip! thanks so much for sharing that information
@aybee633 жыл бұрын
By 'connection acknowledgement' I gather you're referring to the words 'allow the computer to access this device'? If so and you're removing the Visit In app using your computer, then you'd have to allow this access. Do you then use USB Debugging after uninstalling the app? Finally, when you say 'public charging spot' what are you referring to? And really appreciate your insight. Am shocked to continually discover just how many holes there are in these devices!!

Thank you. Its pretty ridiculous that Samsung installs a tracking app after an update.

YES! I disabled both of those apps (Bixby and Visit In) but now I realize that is not good enough.
@aybee633 жыл бұрын
Doesn't Samsung just reinstall it during an update? Also, if the app is running in the background, does that mean Samsung are effectively tracking the device 24/7? If so, why would they need to do that? Is there a log of that tracking stored anywhere?
@jeanene7210 ай бұрын
Of course that data is stored somewhere, else they would not bother to provide this "useful and convenient" app for free. Maybe it's like google history, that you can delete? Even then, it is probably still in their mega storage.

only if the OTA update contains changes to the app/service. sometimes OTA updates are like 3MB in size and don't change much. and sometimes they're much bigger and bring lots of new updates so it will depend in my experience

@@ExplainingAndroid so it needs to be checked after any update, more or less with the respect of the said above. Pitty, that 99% of users doesn't care for this crap, otherwise they would not dare bloatware your device like this.

yes! it's possible this video will help you to disable that keyboard app so that it doesn't have any permissions as mentioned. if the command in this video doesn't work, though, then check the S21 bloatware video I have on the channel (the commands can be similar but different)

@@bharathveer that would be why :) So, the core uninstall command that we're using with ADB here is definitely present on your device. What I have noticed though, is that sometimes the "arguments" and/or the syntax used, will vary from device to device (possibly either from OEM to OEM. . .or from one version of Android to another) I would bet you could find the full uninstall command for this phone in its device forum over on XDA. A search in the dedicated forum for the phone may pull up a result. But you could also ask in their help sub-forum for the specific device. I don't own the phone so I can't test. But that would be the way I would find out if I were in your shoes

So I seem to keep finding different ways to spy on my phone that I'm sure my future ex-wife either has used or is using to track my phone so she can be a more proficient piece of human garbage. Could you do a video on how to detect apps or services that could be hidden in an android "like my S21 Ultra" and also says to remove these services from your device? I would be really grateful. My kids would also be grateful.
