It worked on mine like a charm, went from 5 gears to 9 and double the speed.... 2 months later nothing starts and no sign of anything working... left it for service and they said my control box got fried... They changed it on guarantee since my bike was just a few months old and i never said what i did !! Anyway it was fun while it lasted and this is just a warning that it might go horribly wrong.

It's actually closer to 28 mph, but the motor has a hard time reaching it on throttle alone.

I have Jansno X50 750 watt rated bike. It was limited by a wire under the seat near the controller. They even had it in the instructions for you to unhook the black wire and that opened mine up. Mine has that screen but I don't think that would work the same on mine. Mine will go about 28mph with my fat butt on it.

Cool guide. How much does this affect the range of the bike? I assume this means more power use and therefore means it burns through the battery faster? I’m generally going pretty long distance but would love to keep my speed up over range.

Going over 20 mph will definitely decrease your range ability with the battery. I've noticed if I do about 25 mph on average, I can get about 12 to 14 miles on throttle alone instead of 20. Thanks for watching!

Sorry, I'm not sure if it works beyond this display unit. I do have another e-bike (Gosen S5) that has a different display, but has the ability to adjust the speed limiter just like this one. The menu is a little different, but the functionality is the same. Makes me think that most of the display units should have this ability, but that's just my guess. Some people are saying the Cafe even unlocked is limited to 20mph throttle only. I just order this bike thinking I could get 25mph on throttle after unlocking.

I was messing with display dashboard, my problem is even if i pedal for like 5km the speedometer goes to like 50mph even im just like around 10km and it stops at motor stop when it reach 20km but the speedometer shows around 50km which is for me its a lie it never does that before

I have the same motor and display in my Core 5 and tried this hack. My setting was already at 45 so I bumped to 50 (max allowed) and saw no change in throttle limit (22mph). Just got my bike 2 weeks ago so maybe this doesn't work anymore.

I would guess there's another setting that's limiting your speed. As long as you have a 750 w motor on your e-bike, it should be capable of doing 28 mph.

@AFireMedia Cannot override the throttle limit of 20mph with the LS set at 50kph. This is actually the upper speed limit beyond which the motor will cut off in pedal assist mode. This is set by the factory to 45kph (27.9mph). The throttle cutoff limit must be another parameter that may require a password to access.

Most electric bikes can be unlocked for the full capability of the motor, but there are some which do not come with that capability. Your best bet is to search by model before purchasing to find out if possible.

Go to assistance level settings. Choose one of the 8 modes: 0-3, 1-3, 0-5, 1-5, 0-7, 1-7, 0-9, or 1-9. The default mode is 0-5. Press the UP/DOWN button to increase or decrease the selected mode until you reach your desired setting. Press the MODE button to store the changed setting and access the PAS ratio settings page.

I don't believe there is a way to remove the limiter completely. For this particular bike at least, it wouldn't make much difference I don't think. The speed is really limited to the size of the motor... In this case 750 watts, which is usually topped out around 36 miles per hour. Once I figured that out, I've been on the hunt for a bike with a big motor (1500w or more) and a controller that will put out the juice, like a 72 volt 🙂 they get pretty expensive though. @@AFireMedia As someone that mostly rides home builds, I have a 48v 14ah/22amp ebike that has a motor rated at 36v/750w and goes 30-32mph. This because motor ratings don't mean much. Motors just churn out the power they are given until they fail doing it. Whatever speed you go is dependent on the winding of the motor/rpm as well as the bms of the battery. The wattage ratings of motors are mostly due to regulations but they do give you some sense of how much juice they are capable of handling before failing. They are typically capable of 2x the wattage they claim as long as you aren't going full throttle for 10min uphill. On flat roads and short climbs, most modern motors can easily handle sustained *peak* wattage output for extended periods of time. One example of this is that the wattage of an ebike is battery voltage X amps. So a 48v 22amp controller has a peak output of 1056watts, motors do not limit this as they do not have the function to do so. Modern motors are made to safely hold this as long as you are the average commuter. Hope this helps your future build.

I bought the Hitway BK3S and l've been having quite a lot of fun with it for the last few days. It has 3 speed settings that are L - 9MPH M - 12MPH and H - 15MPH and everything was fine until yesterday. You have to find what number is for the speed then get your kilometers as high as you can put them then hold the power button

U can disconnect the wire in the control unit too mine is a single white wire yours may be a different colour but it's the only wire that's looped on the control unit
