Very good video. I didn't think many would know about this trick and additive used that way. I learned it from an old school master mechanic. He always started with MMO, then wait at least 30 minutes and crank the engine (using battery) without spark plugs but instead have the engine compression tool connected to measure the compression. If any of the engines were lower than factory defined spec, then drop a bit more MMO and wait at least another 30 minutes before trying again. He would move on to using PB Blaster if the 3rd attempt failed as well. PB Blaster is a more aggressive additive which could be used on severely seized engines. It works faster than MMO too. I poured an ounce or so of MMO twice while waiting 30 minutes or so in between and nothing. Switched to PB Blaster and sprayed a second or so into the cylinder that was barely getting 115 psi on one of the 4 cylinders on my 1987 Honda Magna (and waiting about 15-20 minutes afterwards), it freed up nicely, all got about 185 psi Important points: 1) Use a new/fully charged battery for compression testing 2) Keep the cranks to no more than 6 hits (which by then the compression should have already achieved its highest pressure) 3) After about 5-6 sets of cranking, it would be best to check and charge the battery, if needed Regardless of what additive was used, once the cylinder frees up, you wouldn't want to continue running the bike like that (obviously). It is time to do an oil change + new filter!

I am also a proponent of Marvel Mystery Oil and do things very similar, except I don't use a ratchet on the crank. Instead, I pop the MC on the center stand and put it in 3rd or 4th gear, get behind it and slowly rock the tire back and forth until it spins free (always being careful to not hang up a ring ridge). Once I have went two revolutions, I am fairly confident it is good to go. Great explanation, sir!

I am amazed at the amount of good engines that seize up from sitting. If I let my engines sit more than 6 months, I will put Marvel Mystery oil in each cylinder, and plug the intake and exhaust. I will go back to the engine years later, and roll it over and put more Marvel Mystery OIl in it so I never have to unseize one or take a chance at damaging it by breaking it free.

do not try and unseize the motor by turning the points rotor bolt .... put it in top gear and rock the bike back and forward and if you have to turn the motor any other way go to the flywheel side and put a strong bar on the flywheel you will see what I mean when you look at it ..DO NOT put a spanner to the flywheel retaining bolt..... and don't use the starter motor as you may wreck your starter clutch and if that starter clutch is on the inside of your crank case's then it's a motor out and strip down to fix

What you have to watch out for on the CB750 is, the oil jets in the barrells can block up and starve the top end of oil, the cam runs in the head, no bearings, so you must check that there is oil reaching the top end.

Another thing when starting one of these after a while is make sure to soak the cylinders down good first. The pistons are aluminum and an oxidized cylinder will scrub that piston real quick.

Engines seized due to a bit of corrosion in the cylinder isn't the same as a piston 'welded' in the bore due to massive heat. Honestly, unless the rest of the bike is immaculate (or sentimental value) I would just strip it down, sell the plastics etc. on ebay and put the proceeds towards a different bike. Unless you plan to rebuild it yourself, wrench time alone will cost more than a 13 year old Suzuki is worth :(

Really almost any penetrating oil, you can even do WD-40 or similar products. I would look up " Penetrating Oils Near Me" or something and should give some results at your local stores. 👌

@@chasetvph7379 try drilling it out with a left hand drill bit. Yes it cuts backwards so remember to run the drill in reverse and go slow. Sometimes the bolt will come out while your drilling it.

I just got lied to about a bike. I was told it only sat a few years and needed a carb. Nope, someone who knows this bike told me it laid on its side outside for 20 years. Motor is seized. Poured in MMO yesterday, just waiting for some change that’ll tell me I can finally just maybe get it free. Also I’m not a bike mechanic so mostly hoping to hell and back this even works.

When I freed mine up, I just fired it up and it poured a ton of smoke out so I’m assuming it burnt it up lol. Like he said a lot will puke out of the spark plug hole but there will still be some residual fluid on the walls.

@@numanr5190 This was a couple brain cells ago so I am trying to remember. I am pretty sure that once I had it freed up, I ran the starter without the spark plug in it and the fuel off, once I wasn't getting any more oil out, I put the plug back in and turned the fuel on and it fired right up. Lots of smoke LOL.
