I have and love your setting tool set even though I've made some of my own tools that are similar to a few of them (brass pushers for instance) it's still so nice to have them organized in a case, with nice handles and highly polished. I have used this unsetting tool once before pretty successfully, but now with your tips about the one area of weakness focus and then sliding it around it will be much better next time!

This was very helpful, thank you! I may have to purchase that little tool, it looks really helpful. So far I haven't had to ever remove a stone from a bezel, but have often wondered if it's possible to do without destroying the bezel.

Why was I under the impression that natural stones needed to be set with "breathing holes" under it? This is a solid bottom. I guess something someone told me 20 years ago and stuck with me.

I have no idea, there are reasons to have an open back, such as ease of cleaning but they don't breathe! :)
