THANKS CODY!!!! I heated up water in a quart sauce pan, poured it on the rim of the bottom bucket and they came unstuck in about 5 seconds. And I absolutely and truly appreciate you conveying the information in 94 seconds.

Worked like a charm in under one minute. Bought two 15 qrt Rubbermaid buckets from Amazon. Came stuck together. Put the stuck buckets on its side in the tub and ran hot water from the spray hose over the entire rim of the bottom bucket turning to cover all sides with the hot water. Came apart quickly. Thanks for the video!

Thank you so much for confirming! this is exactly what I was thinking but I was doubtful because I thought that maybe the plastic would melt. I know that metal expands with heat, so I'm going to try it and expect the best.UPDATE: IT WORKED!! 🎉

Thanks for the like and comment! As stated in the video "bathe the lower bucket in it." Literally just pour hot water all over the lower/outer bucket. Since plastic expands slightly when heated the outer bucket expands a little. And since the opposite is true - plastic contracting when cooled - the inner/upper bucket is smaller than normal. These two effects combine to make the bucket easier to remove. I hope this helps!

The method works, just tried with two of mine that I couldn't get unstuck. I've used the trick on metal but didn't think plastic would do the same thing. The vacuum seal was broken and they came apart after about 10 seconds. Maybe redoing the video showing what you did. Either way, thanks.

Has anyone ever tried a heat gun, if pvc is workable with a heat gun this bucket plastic might be also.
@codywoodring Жыл бұрын
Hey if you've got one more power to ya! I feel like using a heat gun might take a little more precision and care than dumping hot water, maybe a larger one (or a hairdryer) would more evenly heat the bucket? If you try it let us know how it goes!
