I've been a painter since 89 and have had to unstick many many buckets I just use my rubber mallet that I close paint cans with. Hit them on the raised edge where the handle attaches. starting with the bucket on the bottom of the stack. Alternate from side to side and it knocks them loose. A trick for those that do not have an air compressor around.
@utubestalker.dotcom3 жыл бұрын
Oh i gotta try this. thank you for contributing, and the compressed air trick is pretty cool too. i have a handheld compressed air bottle that can be refilled with a bike pump or compressor. i'll try using that as well for faster application. love the great tips guys

For those who have an air compressor, this is THE fix! I have one from Harbor Freight ad happened to buy their attachment kit which had a nozzle that worked perfectly. Much easier than the water method a friend told me about!

Thanks:Great Idea! Our volunteer group uses over 100 buckets to move materials in the CV National Park for areas not accessible with vehicles. It's easier to lug a generator and compressor to the material site, than wrestling with pry bars, hammers.....

@@ArnoldsDesign We call them star pickets but they are those steel fence posts with a Y shaped cross section. I once watched an episode of Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe where he talked about the hardest job he ever had to do and it was removing star pickets using a shovel and a crow bar. It was in an episode called "Abandoned Mine Plugger kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZa0iXV3gsqcntE at 38:09 It is unbelievable how you seem to be able to rock the post from side to side but as soon as you pull on it it locks in place like it is welded to something. You’ve done it again! Don’t ever think that something is so simple or obvious that no one would benefit from one of your solutions. You rock! (now, where did I throw them durn buckets I was cussin at yesterday...i’ll teach ‘em a thing or too!)
@duaneross92714 жыл бұрын
I just put a little something into the 1st bucket,so the 2nd one doesn't go down all the way and get locked,or stuck how ever you want to look at it. Also I get rid of that metal handle,and use a small piece of nylon rope feed it on the bottom of the housing the handle was hooked to,then just the a knot into the rope so it doesn't go all the way through the old handle housing,then do the same on the other side. You can make your handle as long or short that you want. The rope size I use is probable about about half or less than the size of a pencil.

You can also vertically score each bucket with a utility knife before you stack them. Either the inside or outside, doesn't matter.
