I can't thank you enough for making this vid Michael. I know absolutely nothing about firmware & LCD updates, so I had to watch this several times before I understood the jargon enough to guess the gist of which options I should take. I can start prints now without stressing out! Like you I love the CR10s Pro quality of printing, but unfortunately by the time I found this solution and sorted out all my bed-leveling issues, the erratic Z offset at the beginning of my prints had caused my hot extruder to gouge and damage the black plastic coating on my build plate (the removable top half of the two-piece aluminium bed). Fortunately the bed levelling issues didn't bend or cause any damage to the structure of my machine (switched it off in time). I still can't believe Creality shipped these otherwise amazing printers with FAULTY firmware. It's a beaut printer now, thanks to you! Would appreciate it if you could make a video about options on how to repair/replace CR10s Pro build plate surfaces. I'm sure there's a few out there that are badly gouged and munted like mine.

VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT: You M-U-S-T select fat32 and 4096 when formatting the SIM. The default setting on my SIM was fat32 and another value for 4096. I wasted hours on this, hope this help someone out there. Thanks so much for producing this video btw...

Very helpful. Thank you. One stumbling block was getting the printer and computer to communicate via the USB cable. When I plugged the cable into the mini-USB port on the printer, the printer powered up even though the power switch was off. However (and it took me, a neophyte, a while to realize this), the computer cannot communicate with the printer until the printer is physically switched on at the power supply.

Hi Michael! I have semi-bricked my LCD board (power out during update), which means it works but can't run update anymore when I put in the card, so I am stuck on a 2-year-old tiny machines firmware (yeah using it very rarely). I was reading about how to unbrick the mainboard with reflashing bootloader on it, but I don't know enough to be sure that the same thing works with the display as well. Could help me out here, is it ok to do that?

Thanks for the tips! While trying to update the firmware in my Ender 5 Plus touchscreen, I kept getting the update screen showing 0000 on all rows and "End" near instantly. Tried a bunch of different SD cards. Eventually got it to work by formatting the included SD card in its entirety with VFAT - that's the whole card, not the standard partition. This let me install Desuuuu's DGUS-reloaded and Marlin 2. I'm hoping I'll be able to keep the touchscreen usable when I install a Bigtree controller board.

I got the firmware updated through Cura hex, but I cannot get Dwin_set to install the image files. I still don't see the Tiny machines startup screen, but the firmware does show TM3D 10S PRO. Any idea how to fix that?

Make sure when you format the SD Card the "Allocation Unit Size" option is set to "4096 Bytes"

I’m having a horrible customer service issue with Creality and Banggood. My bed came warped out of the box and was able to show them by pictures and video. So far Creality tells me a bed replacement would be needed, but I need to talk to Banggood. Banggood is giving me the run around so far only offering me a small credit without replacing the bed. I will never buy another Creality product or from Banggood again.

I got a normal cr-10 a few years back from them and things always went wrong. Turns out I have the wrong extruder, etc. And I noticed when I was putting it together some things were already done. They definitely gave me a used/modified machine and sold it to me as brand new.

I bought the CR-10S Pro V2 in 2020 and after a year I wanted to update its functions. Unfortunately, Creality and MyLittel Factorie had updated their websites so much at the time that I could only use them as a guide. And it came that I played a wrong firmwre which is now stuck on the device. I've tried a few more things but I've had the printer for a year (leaving it in a corner a bit frustrated). I just can't access the printer with the Com interface. Do I have to install a new bootloader (and how does that work on this board (Ender 5 don't have the same board)) ist ther samethink i am able to do?

I had a similar problem. Jump to 3:20 and note that the allocation size may be important, as it is specifically pointed out. I also noted that the default name was longer using the windows formatting tool, so I reduced it to reflect the example "CR10SPRO" without quotes. After doing these steps it worked for me. In fact, my screen is now using the RED color set :)

I had a feeling it would be a FAT issue, that maybe I'd formatted FAT16 rather than FAT32, or vice versa, but you were spot on with the allocation size. Can you please do a updated video, with the more advanced settings such as the servo pins, as well as pin debugging, and how to get marlin 2.0 to work with the stock cr10s pro touchscreen? I have multiple problems, one is the printer and bltouch working semi-correctly (it works when you run the self test, down and up commands, but when leveling, the printer head doesn't stop). I also have the issue that after installing marlin from the tiny machines firmware, all of the fans except the one inside the printer stopped working.

I can't get my auto bed level to come on, as it is turned off and I cannot turn it back on. Plus, when I press the measure button, it will not allow me to get out of that screen and none of the buttons do anything when I press them.

Can't really find anyone using it and you don't make mention of it when you talk about it on the Prusia how to do so on the CR10S Pro. Also, I find firmware (even with Marlin 2.0) on the net, but in the example files there is no CR10S Pro as an option to start with. Can you tell me if I can simply use the CR10S? Thanks for this video. It helped out so much. I waited to do this until I finished my micro swiss all metal hot end and extruder mod and a all new cooling duct system. I noticed my CR10 was having auto bed leveling issues after the mod was completed (like crashing into the table during the auto leveling program) even though the height had been reset. Searching YT, I found I needed to clear the EEPROM by flashing the firmware.. And this video popped right up.. This video was the easiest by far to follow and understand. And after downloading some of the items needed I now have updated firmware and LCD display.. There were a few rough spots. TM has changed the look and layout of their site sense this video was uploaded. That slowed down the process a little. And there was no single firmware update for just the original CR-10S Pro, only the firmware for with BL Touch.. So I'm worried about running the auto leveling and crashing the hot end into the bed again. I also have an issues when homing. When you press auto home the machine goes to a different location than it did before the firmware update..

Today I got around to update to Tiny machines firmware. Did both lcd screen and main board firmware. Wen't to print from SD card and while print is started, I like to go into the adjustments tab on LCD screen and adjust any z offsets while watching first layer. As soon as print starts, the LCD goes to main menu, not allowing you to make any adjustments or even cancel print. I wouldn't think it would respond this way. Have tried several times and each time a print starts, it immediately goes to main window. Has anyone experienced this at all, or have a solution. I also tried to go back into the print option but then it makes you select a new print, which gets in the way of existing print. I am not sure if Tiny Machines updated their firmware. I did the 10SPRo hex from Tiny Machines web site.

This happens when the computer is still connected to the printer, try printing from SD card with the USB to the computer disconnected.

And since the pi is a mini computer I decided to try printing from SD card with Raspberry pi disconnected. Worked great since following your advice. Thank you very much.

TM's guide says "For 7.4.6, you will use V7 TM3D_DWINCombinedScreens_V7.z", yet the there's no link pointing to the screen firmware, it's only plain text. Hi there, i have a problem flashing the latest lcd firmware onto my Cr10sPro Display. I flashed my printer some time ago (marlin 1.1.9) and also updated the screen firmware while i was at it. Today i flashed Marlin 2.0 onto it which worked flawlessly but the second step (flashing the display) just wont work. I've formated the SDcard (8gb, microsd hc, fat32, 4096 bytes) and copied the DWIN_SET over to the drive. I then put the sdcard into the lcd's card slot (not into the printer's motherboard) and started the printer. But nothing happened (except the printer booting up like before). The blue firmware update screen is just not popping up. I tried several methods of formating (even dos command line cuz i read dwin's tutorial pdf). I tried older firmware versions from creality's website. I tried another sd card (16gb, microsd hc) but that also didnt work. Can you help me figure out why the lcd is not upgrading its firmware? @@underourrock i tried EVERYTHING. the only thing that fixed it was buying a new lcd. with that new one everything went flawless on the first try (same sd and setup the other lcd rejected).

@@elliotschka I deleted the partition on the card and recreated it. Apparently the controller screwed up the file system even though windows didn't find anything wrong with it. This doesn't explain the problem you had except for a faulty screen I guess. :/

HI, I just upgraded my CR10s Pro to a CR10S pro V2 I add a BLtouch and firmware and screen update. I had trouble getting the machine to update but it is done. But now I have a new issue, the two cooling fans on the print head will not turn on. I have checked the settings in the new firmware, and have turned it on. the fans still will not work. Any ideas would be great. Am I still missing something? I upgraded using Tiny Machines kit and firmware.

Hi, I have noticed recently that the printer goes to the home position part way through a print. Is this normal if it has lost its way. I am on the V1 machine with the 1.70 Creality firmware, it has the thermal runaway, so I asume it is all up to date. I cant find the correct Tiny Machines one for it as they seem to be on to the V2 machine with the BL Touch. Using CURA 4.5.0 on iMac. Any advice or pointers?

I have flashed tiny machines firmware on my Creality CR10s Pro and everything works great except for the measurement option, when i try to do the 25 point probing, at the first point hot end goes right to the edge of the build plate and proximity sensor is in the air at that time so probing procedure fails. I don't have BL touch, using inductive proximity sensor. Is there a way to fix this via the offset menus ?

I followed these instructions (updating to the latest B7 available from TinyMachines). Unfortunately, it has broken my ability to print via USB from Cura 4.1 (Using Creawesome). The printer still connects to my PC, as indicated by the jingle and the appearance of a new COM port in the device manager. I can connect via Pronterface, but my connection to Cura is gone. Any help?

@@TeachingTech Thanks for the quick response! I had to change the baud rate on the port in order to get the firmware to correctly update, but don't see an option in Cura to change that value. I did however, just set the rate back to its original value, and now Cura can print to it once again, tho...there are other issues, the connectivity one is resolved for now. If you can point out that setting in Cura 4.1 (with creawesome) or if its a gcode command...I dunno.

What would cause the bltouch 3.1 not to register with my cr-10s pro. It self checks. When going home on leveling. It will turn all blue and drop probe, begans going down, I push probe up with finger and it starts to turn red until I push probe all the way up and then it flashes red but the head still continues to go to bed and crash into it if I don't stop it. Owned the printer for a month now without doing a single print... yay!

Michael, I can't get my printer to update the firmware, I flashed the screen firmware but can't seem to get the mainboard to flash. I flashed the LCD screen easily but the mainboard just doesn't connect and the COM port is still the same as if it is plugged in or not. definitely need your help... I also tried the Cura path and it doesn't connect at all, tiny machines had an Xloader link and I can't get that to work either. I easily flashed my Ender 3 months ago so I'm not completely new either. Unfortunately, I'm just stuck and have a new Hemera hot end installed and need to flash the firmware to get it working.

Does someone still have that verstion of the firmware (arround the video time). I am looking right now on tinymachine and there are only firmwares for BL touch. I've flashed what's currently available there under "stock probe" but it still has settings for BL touch. Furthermore with this firmware once I make the "measuring" inside leveling, it gets into a bug and cannot get out of there, need to reset the printer and cannot actually level the bed. If someone has the firmware for Creality CR10S - PRO 1st version would be great. Thanks a lot.

you might try the newfs_msdos command in a terminal window. something like 'sudo newfs_msdos -F 32 -c 8 -v VOLUMEID /dev/yourdiskdevice' (substituting the path to the drive as necessary) might give you the results you need, though I've not tried it.

Just followed these instructions. They worked perfectly, but the code doesn't. On CR-10s Pro V2 (with stock BL Touch) The wav files on the LCD are all static. The Auto Bed Leveling feature is gone. I can select it, but it goes away as soon as I leave the screen and now it won't work.

Followed your steps and all went well but post upgrade my preset PLA preheat temps are 180 nozzle and 70 bed. Is there a way to change that? I want my pre-heat temps for PLA to be 200 nozzle and 50 bed.

i got the firmware flashed but now the screen firmware doesn't work after I flashed the Hemera firmware to the mainboard... is there a screen firmware that works with the Hemera?

Thanks for the video - I've updated my printer to the Tinymachines CR-10S Pro firmware ( hex file.) I did run into a problem when I needed to add filament during the printing process. After adding the filament I was asked if I wished to continue printing or quit (screen 82_E_Refuel2.bmp). I selected "yes" to return to printing - but nothing happened. I pressed "yes" several times and waited as well. Still nothing. Wondering if you tested this - or have seen this before. Filament sensor tested ok. Also, pressing "no" also resulted in no action. I was required to power down the machine and start the print over. Note that the printer was maintaining the temperature fine. I have downloaded and successfully compiled the source code from Creality - but would like the features and code corrections provided by Tinymachines. Tinymachines does not provide the source code. Thanks again for taking the time to review the product.

Need help. I followed the guide and did the update. all went well. now when the new 7.4 version came out i follow the same steps and i get stuck on the loading screen on my cr10 s pro v2. screen works , i can upload via xloader, but it doesn't show up on cura. windows detects it. i followed the steps and get upload successful. tried different versions and redownloaded it several times to make sure it wasn't corrupted files. thanks in advance.

The SD card content will not refresh until you switch off/on the printer, there are some other bugs that havnt been fixed like random freeze after touching the X axis end stop while in home just before print starts, also lack of resume print after powercut, sorry but I am going back to stock. It has been more than 6 months now and tinymachines doesnt respond to the known issues.

Michael - In your video you mentioned that adding the Thermal Runaway protection did away with the Resume Print function. Is that something that can be fixed or is it a limitation of the board or something else? Just trying to understand why the Resume Print function is lost?

This does not work on my cr10spro at all. Every time I insert the sd with the DWIN folder and files into the lcd or the printer port it does nothing at all. It does not pickup the sd at all. Also, when I reinsert the sd from the printer back into my laptop, the computer can't read the files any longer and must be formatted. Then I re format it, and do the same thing, every time getting the very same problem. I think my printer is a factory dud it seems.

Thx for the video Micheal, I did flash everything sucessful. I do have two questions, i am a newby ;). After flashing i notiched that the fan that cools the cooling ribs above the nozzel switches on as you turn on the printer. It only needs to run when you start printing and the hotend is hot. How can you turn it of manualy? I tried M107 but that doesn,t work. And if i would like to change that also in the firmware what are the steps? Is there a source from tinymachine and where to look in the config file? Or try the firmware from th3, but then i have to activate everything for the creality is that hard to do?(as a newby).

Thanks for the video, however, I am having trouble with my update. I followed your instructions and uploaded the screen version (CR10SPro_Max_Ender5Plus_V2_Screen.7z) what I thought was the correct board version (CR10Pro_Stock_BIL_DW5.hex) but when I click on the Settings/Leveling screen I get a different version to what I am supposed to. It gives the five-point level check screen and none of those buttons work. My Machine is a stock standard CR-10S Pro with no firmware update since I purchased it in 12/2018. Just wondering if you have come across this.

High there, when i bought my CR-10S Pro one and a half years ago, i found this video and thankfully update the firmware. it was great. And I thank you very much for this great tutorial. Now one and a half years later, i saw that tiny machines has a new firmware for the CR-10S Pro, but it seems its based on the 2.x version of Marlin... My question as the version i use is marked EOL (end of life) .. can i simply update to the new verison? or do i have to stick to the one i have (the one you are describing in your video)? Also there is a different screen firmware, ( it says all cr-10s pro use that one,,, it is labeled cr-10s pro v2) it has a DWIN_SET folder but, also some files outside that folder... should I try that update also???? I would use it, like i did the one you discribe. Any thanks for that great tutorial. Luc
