How to update Godox X1-T firmware on Windows 10 Tutorial

Thanks for the tutorial. The first four or five attempts didn't work but that was because I used low-grade Micro USB cables made for Bluetooth headphones and smartphones. Upgrading the cable made the difference. I had to purchase a higher end cable (someone in this thread suggested one made by Belkin) for my Apple laptop (used Windows 10 on VMware Virtual Machine to update the firmware) and followed the instructions accordingly. Barely three minutes later (because I had to update three TT685s speedlights) I had them all updated with the new firmware. So check your cables and upgrade them if necessary.

Thanks for video! My Win10 didn't agree to take these drivers even after Advanced settings changed. Made on Win7 on my old laptop. Do you have experience with X1T + XT16 with Godox DE monolight? I can't find right settings :(

Spent 2hrs this evening trying to do this, no joy the usb device is not recognised. It seems that going through the process of disabling driver signature doesnt in fact turn it off for some reason-I wondered if it was my security software but turning this off made no difference. Has anyone any ideas.

+Jeremy Munday did the "install this driver anyway " window popped out ? if not than the driver signature wasn't correctly disabled , and also try diferent cables , if these don't work you might have a defective unit .

My transmitter says V19 (X1-T Nikon) so the latest version according to the website. But I still can't get lower than 1/128. No 1/28- or 1/256 to be found. If found it strange because in the changelog of the drivers, "1/256" was added in version V09 (2015). Do I have to activate something? Any help welcome. Using it with AD600BM with the latest v1.6 - but that shouldn't make a difference.

Wow quick respons ;) I found the answer. I needed to dive into the custom functions of the X1-T transmitter (pressing CH/OK button for 2 seconds) and go to function 05. Didn't even know the transmitter had custom functions. Some other useful tweaks to be found.

I'm having a problem with connection. I have followed your tutorial step by step and when I'm pressing connect it shows XT1-S connection failed. Any ideas what's wrong. Using Windows 10 with lastes updates

Is the jvm.dll file stored on the x1c or is it a file thats missing from my computer? I am using the cable I use to communicate with my dji phantom, it also charges the phantom controller. It Should be a data cable? I don't think it's the trigger as I tried to update a receiver and get the exact same problem.

+tobiah tayo that's actually a java problem , try to uninnstall all java software and than start from scratch . and yes , it must be a data cable .

I notice you don't mention in the text that there are Chinese characters that need to be re-named out of the downloaded folder & file names. Many people, included myself, had success updating to V12 after renameing them (to anything - not a translate). Good Luck, All! :-)

+Jensen Lui seems that java didn't installed correctly , the software comes with java 7 which is pretty outdated . i suggest you to try reinstalling java manually , download the latest from here java.com/en/download/manual.jsp let me know if works

hey , this is simply caused by the Chinese characters in the folders containing the .exe file. You will need to either copy the .exe file to your desktop first before opening it, or rename the folders the .exe file is contained inside to remove any of the Chinese characters (intenta eliminar los caracteres chinos antes de descomprimir el archivo ) hope that helps

Hi Andrew, thanks for doing this video :) it helped me update all my triggers and the AD360's, now I'm tring to update the Godox AD600ttl so it will work with the new sony trigger and have just downloaded the latest firmware update V2.2 to do this, unpacked it and tried to install it but get an launcher error "unable to open archive file" so downloaded it again and tried on a windows 7 machine and XP all give the same message. Messaged Godox but no reply. I'm going insane!! any help would be appreciated

Than , try with another cable , some cables are for charging only .and if this doesn't solve it , you got a defective unit .

Hi!! i still can't use the Godox X1-T along with my Canon 580EX II.....the speedlight got crazy when i put it on the transmitter.Also, using a mac, i tried to update the X1-T firmware but nothing happened after installing the UNRAR 3.60 beta 6 freeware. Does anybody succeeded to use a Canon speedlight + Godox X1T-C contemporarily? thank you :-)

if you already running the latest firmware on both X1 and 580EX II and still don't work , you got some bad luck :( checking the firmware on X1 is by pressing mode button while switching it on .

+Tihi Andrew I have this same error. Been trying multiple ways to fix it with no luck. Running W7 on virtual machine on Mac. Triggers are useless without the firmware updates.

+Cory Knowlton i supose you get the issues after the software is installed , there is still no fix for that error , but you can try by uninstalling all godox related software , download again the software , and this time install it on another partition , i know people who got the same issues and somehow they resolved it .

+Tihi Andrew Still no luck. Installed on USB stick as well with no luck. I have no idea what to do next. The AtLibUsbDfu.dll file sits as a hidden file in the bin folder of the program. I unhid it and still no luck. I really would like to use these but not if I cant update firmware.

+Cory Knowlton i suggest you to try on another pc , maybe you could find someone in your are who could help you .it's pity , godox has a really nice line-up of flashes but the software/support sucks at the momment .
