Using a MacBook Pro, after I download the MPC 2.10 SYNTH CONTENT INSTALLER, I then try to open it to extract it and I get zip could not be opened. The file isn't in the correct format.

Hey Matthew, Ever since I got the MPC Live, I've depended on your channel for clear, laid back guidance, and your videos just keep getting better - Thanks! I do have to confirm though, that it is necessary to log into your Akai Pro account in order to successfully download the MPC 2.10 Synth Content file (correct, no login needed for just the system updater file). If you try to download the Synth Content file without logging in, you will either get a "download failed" message, or your browser might also get stuck in a download loop.

It isn't like that for everyone. I can download it no problem at all without logging in. I did it a couple yesterday and just now after reading this comment and it work flawlessly and just took under two minutes to download. Some people have said they have had issues with it downloading even when logged it. Someone on a MAC even said it didn't work until he updated his MAC. Not sure what is going on it seems to be different with different people. It works no problem for me logged in or not logged in. Thanks for the comment! Glad the videos help!

So thats why I almost smashed my laptop in frustration! Why are they doing that?? I wanted to buy my MPC used on EBAY, so I would not have a akai pro account since the instrument is preowned. So how to force the file to download for users who buy second hand?? And if it works form some without loggin in, then there has to be a torrent or alternate download site yes? Cause if I can not get this crucial file, no sense in buying the MPC.

To update: (1) download the "USB" version (file name "MPC-2.10.0-Update.img") of the update, (2) copy the MPC-2.10.0-Update.img file to the root folder of a USB memory stick, (3) insert the memory stick in your MPC, (4) power on etc and press SHIFT+MENU (on MPC One) to go to Preferences, (5) select the INFO page, (6) hold down SHIFT and press UPDATE on the screen, (7) follow the instructions on the screen.

Had the biggest Protest Rally on Sat 200,000 plus and the Govt is trying to lock us down further .. they are adopting the Chinese method of put a Boot on yer face and do what we fuckn say !! A tip for anyone who wants to copy the content to an SD card, you don't need to take the card out of the MPC, just go into controller mode and it will give you access to the SD card that's inserted in the MPC. I appreciate your video Mr. Stratton, the only one i found who shows the update process.

For the ones without SD card slot (new gen computers) you can download the synth on your MPC with the controller mode, it allows you the access of your SD card inside the MPC directly with your computer.

Thank you for these Mpc noob vids! I am a blues guitar player that for medical reasons can’t gig anymore. So I am taking the plunge with the mpc. Your videos are helping already and I literally just opened the box a few hours ago. I do have one, glaringly stupid question to ask the Mpc community lol. I hear a lot of talk about sampling, using samples, mangling samples etc etc etc. But no one ever mentions just exactly HOW they are getting these samples in the first place? Lol. Sorry but I said I was a noob. I am mostly interested in trying to make blues/funk maybe a bit of country rock metal etc etc. I am really not much into electronic music, though I could see myself maybe getting into some funky boom bap.
