It's for the tube between the nipple on the camshaft cover and the throttle body, wrap the check-valve with the insulation, use zip ties to hold in in place.

The insulation/heat shielding that you speak of is supposed to go around the two hot water hoses that go to the throttle body. The black check valve rests up against the two hoses then you wrap the insulation around the three pieces and secure it with a cable tie on each side of the check valve. It's supposed to keep the check valve warm to allow any oil that gets inside to smoothly flow into the oil reservoir. The problem is, it's not easy to wrap these three together so most people don't route the check valve nor insulate it correctly. How much difference in right or wrong routing is questionable since the oil moving inside the check valve is usually warm anyways but it may have something to do with areas that experience very cold winters.

I installed pcv6 on my Viggen. I still have run off around the filler cap. Eventually I'll get around to re routing a aftermarket catch can

Could you tell me what to order from eeuroparts in order to replace - update my ventilation parts? Also if you have a hint: my vacoom pump is working in fast intervallum on ignation but i can not detect any leaks. A good method to find faults there?

Very well done, Thank you. Helped a lot.

So, I just found my pcv hose has died and I'm wondering if it's necessary to update the whole system or just replace hoses? I have an 02 9-3. Also is it safe to drive lightly on a busted hose? Am I losing a ton of oil if I do? Thanks for the video and if you get back to me I appreciate that very much too.

If you haven't updated to the most current update I would definitely do so. (#6 I think?) As to the busted hose, I would as the very least go to a parts store and get a hose to replace it. Im not sure on the oil loss. I would update the system though if you have not. I helps keep the down the sludge build up, which is a killer of these cars.

Pgt DIY that's what I'm figuring. I ordered the hose and I'm going to be updating to 6 sometime next month. Just need the funds.

This actually doesn't apply to 1998 or 1999. 1) Because there was no 1998 9-3, and 2) because 1999 uses a T5 engine (except viggen) this repair only applies to T7. 2000 - 2002

What could be the engine symptom with a bad pcv?
@DirtRoadAutoRepair7 жыл бұрын
most commonly the engine starts building up sludge.

Where is the pcv valve though? I have the new system but I don't see it on my car I wanted to change it
@DirtRoadAutoRepair7 жыл бұрын
It should have come with your new system. Mine was already connected to two of the hoses. There are several other smaller valves through out the system, but those don't come with the kit.
@DirtRoadAutoRepair7 жыл бұрын
von crooms it should be right behind and passenger side of the oil dipstick.
